Let me give you a truth of the universe ... not everyone eats a meal at the same rate. So check with your party - make sure everyone is going to finish their order at the same time - or else their the plates of...the faster eaters will vanish while the slower eater - or eaters - are trying to hold down their "tents" while the winds blow everything off the table. This is ridiculous, rude, unnecessary and clearly designed to turn tables. This sucks. So tonight, I couldn't finish my meal - every plate on the table was cleared, intimidated, I gave my dinner up and respectfully complained. A big "sorry" this is company policy ... but a "free sunday dessert". Guess what? I don't eat dessert. I don't want a sunday. I completely reject the gesture. You know what I wanted? My dinner. Reserved for. Expensive. And uninterrupted by your company policy.More

We are huge fans of our local Houston’s in Hackensack NJ and decided to try out this NYC outpost just to see if it was any different. This one is located in the basement of the Citicorp building. Happily, it has the same private-feeling booths...and hospitality-oriented well-trained staff we have done to rely on at our local place. Of course we had to try the sushi since our local Houston’s doesn’t offer it. It was fresh and really, really good! My hubby had a tasty Delmonico steak and I, uncharacteristically, got the Arctic char special. My fish was good — slightly fishy at times, but good. I really liked the way they prepared the bok choy side as it was slightly raw and minimally seasoned — you could really taste the vegetable. Service, as I said, was generally really good with the exception of once we had to ask for another beverage. However, hubby was really happy they put a tall spoon in his Arnold Palmer without asking!More

My wife and I enjoyed the hospitality at Hillstone Midtown on. The food was beautiful to behold and prepared to perfection. Our server, Catherine, provided the warmest welcome and most excellent service! She made our visit special. After dinner, we hung out at the bar...with a jazz band providing good vibes. It was a great night. There are lots of options in Midtown but include Hillstone on your list. You won't be disappointed.More

From entry to exit. Excellent and fabulous. I had lunch here today with couple clients. Hostess was very respectful and kind. The staff was professional, we were seated promptly. The setting for lunch was a bit dark and romantic for an evening dinner so it...was tough to return to work after a lunch. Anyways we had such a great time no one went back to work, lol. Food and drinks were excellent as well were the desserts. I would dine here anytime! Thank your management and staff!More

First off, I’m a big Hillstone supporter. Been to one in 5 different cities and used to hit ‘Houstons’ every week in Houston. Been loyal to this place for years. This was my 4th time at NYC Midtown location having recently relocated to New York,...it may well be my last...Starting with the good stuff - nice atmosphere as always, good service and food is maybe a little behind that of other locations. I usually get caesar salad, ribs and 5 nut brownie for dessert - as a chocolate lover admittedly one of best desserts I’ve had. Heres the bad part - After receiving our main courses before we even half way through our starters...I had the unpleasant experience of having to pull an exceptionally long hair out of my mouth while eating the ribs. I’m not unfair, I think our server handled it really well and know that this does happen on rare occasions. However, after I paid $40 for ribs and $300 for a dinner for 3...kind of feel like it shouldn’t be happening!More

The whole experience of our visit to Hillstone was perfect. The booking, the welcome, the service and the quality of food were all exceptional. My wife and son (17) who are not easily pleased visited with me on the 27th of October at lunchtime to...celebrate my 60th birthday. Although relatively dark on arrival the tables are well lit and allow viewing of menu's and views of the well presented rinks and food. the waiting staff were friendly and helpful with the menu recommendations. Overall a fantastic meal and couldn't be happier to have chosen this venue. Wile visiting New York there are so many choices of restaurants that we like to try different places each time we visit. However Hillstone are top of the list for a re-visit on our next trip.More
