GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND DINNER

We went at Jeffrey's Grocery during our honeymoon in NYC. we recommend: the great lobster, the excellent clam chowder, the superb chocolate cake. Second visit. First was for a quick bite of yummy oysters and Cesar salad with a friend. Second for a very late brunch with my honey. Had the fresser plate. A little pricey but delicious, well balanced platter of white fish, creme fraiche with salmon roe, soft scrambled eggs with caviar, the tiniest bit of sable, nova and gravlax. Despite... More

Came across this place whilst wandering around. Luckily got a table without waiting - the place was buzzing and just what I imagined it would be. Food did not disappoint - 2 shared the 60$ oyster combo and I shared a burger, king crab claws and potato latkes with my other daughter. Best Bloody Mary I have ever tasted -... More

My teenage son and I popped in Jeffrey's as we made our way across Greenwich Village in a downpour. The cozy atmosphere and charming staff couldn't have made for a more welcome contrast to the foul weather outside. We were lucky enough to arrive during Oyster Happy Hour. I enjoy seeking out good oysters when I travel, and Jeffrey's oysters... More

This is one of those places where locals go because it is so good. I had a salmon benedict which was the best eggs benedict I have ever had. Others in our party were also impressed. My wife thought the egg sandwich was amazing and the potato latkers were out of this world. There are some interesting drinks on the... More

A well considered menu presented in an unpretentious manner by an incredibly talented team; both in front of and behind the pass. Great bar, great Seafood, great lunch menu and all very affordable.

The seaing was uncomfortable. The menu wasn't great and ended up being charged for beverages we had not ordered, I called when I realized the mistake and was promised a refund for which I'm still waiting... The brussel sprout salad was too sweet for my taste and the overall menu selection is not what I would expect.

We went for a mother /daughter lunch on a holiday Monday - likely why we got seated right away..we each had the fried skate sandwich and our girls loved their Loosey Goosey drinks. Order a old bottle of water and the seltzer spritz makes a great bubbly. Oysters are fine but atmosphere is what is great as its tucked into... More

We recently stopped by this little restaurant for lunch. At first we were intrigued by the fact that it is called Jeffrey's Grocery. However the food is the main draw with well prepared dishes. They also offer a good selection of locally brewed beer.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
