Atmosphere and view exceeded expectations. We had an intimate table for 2, one row over from the expansive windows. Still had a very good view. Wait staff was friendly and even accommodated us a few minutes before our actual reservation. Restaurant was very busy, but food was served in a timely manner and service was not rushed. Food was excellent.... More

For the quality of the food, the prices are phenomenal. It's in a great location overlooking Columbus Circle and Central Park. The drinks were tasty and the food was delicious. The pork was cooked to perfection. I would've given it five stars had the lead waiter paid a little bit more attention to us though the staff did a very... More

We went during a weekend brunch, and with the tables being set very close together, it felt very crowded. Our waiter was not particularly attentive, and the quality of food was just okay, nothing special. Decor is modern and contemporary, with a nice elevated view of the park. Definitely request a table by the window for a very nice view.

Picture this: Saturday night. Restaurant half empty at peak time. All the customers were sitting at the row of tables near the windows, which are really the only attraction of the restaurant. We made a birthday reservation, requesting to have a view based on the occasion. Without any acknowledgment of the request, the hostess (an unfriendly Asian lady) directed us... More

We enjoyed a business lunch here recently-- and reserved a table near the window. The food is quite good and the service was friendly and efficient. What makes Robert a memorable dining experience is the splendid view it offers of the broad expanse of Central Park. We were lucky to have a bright, sunny day--it is truly a magical vista!

Book a table in advance and require a front window seating facing central park. The menu is not offering so many choice (which I think is good sign for freshness), but it has verything you need to make a good lunch or diner. The view is amazing, the staff is helpfull, the food is tasty. Prices range from 15 to... More

This was our first time at Robert. This was our anniversary and I wanted a restaurant experience which would be memorable. Robert did not disappoint. I found it on TripAdvisor through the recommendations of other travelers. The comments were right on target. For a special occasion, or a memorable evening, the restaurant provides a special experience because of two features... More

My mother, sister and I travelled from Sydney to spend Christmas and New Years in New York. Having read about a number of good reviews of Robert, I booked for New Years Eve. I cannot speak more highly of the restaurant, the food and the staff. We were seated at a table right at the window with a spectacular view... More

There really is no other restaurant where you can get the view that you get from this restaurant as it sits atop the Museum of art and design at the south end of Columbus Circle on the top floor. Although I have requested hit many times I have never actually been seated by the window so my only experience seeing... More

Robert is a modern American restaurant housed within the Museum of Arts and Design with an amazing view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. Enjoy dinner and a bottle of fine wine from our collection in our beautifully designed dining room. Have a seat in our lounge next to our baby grand piano and sip one of our cocktails.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
