My husband and I recently visited NYC and ate at some great restaurants, but the best was Marc Forgione - we so enjoyed the food we had dinner there twice. The Kampachi Tartare was delicious, light and beautifully presented. The Chilli Lobster and Chicken under a brick were taste sensations and quite different to more traditional lobster and chicken dishes.... More

Marc Forgione is solid great restaurant. Been there many times although its my first review. in the summer love to seat outside but inside is equally good. This time took Heirloom Tomato Salad for appetiser which was very good specially with the bread. Main course took the Wild Striped Bass which was cooked very nicely. Portions are good so you... My wife and I , who live and work in the New York City area, as well as travel extensively, recently had an anniversary at Marc Forgione. The night and the food were fantastic in every way. We were welcomed to our table with an anniversary welcome form Marc Forgione, and our waitress was attentive, helpful, and overall very nice.... More

Had a lovely dinner with friends at Marc Forgione. It is more than just a meal. You are lead through by very informed servers and well crafted food selections. All the menu choices have combinations of every day and exotic ingredients. The halibut was excellent as was a special veal sirloin. The swordfish was underwhelming but the stuffed zucchini flower... The restaurant is beautiful, charming, and vibrant. But Marc Forgione's spot in Tribeca impressed me and I plan on going back soon. The flavor profiles were bold and the food allowed you to take a journey. Some of the food were excellent takes on classics and some dishes I had not seen before - and loved them. This restaurant is... More

I read some of the reviews and wondered whether the writers and I went to the same restaurant. I suppose if you want inexpensive, ordinary food, from waiters who impose themselves on you, this is not the restaurant to visit. I liken the experience at Iron Chef Marc Forgione's to visiting an art gallery. You need to plan to come... More

Expected more from the reviews we had read before reserving our table here. Can't really fault the food, but very overpriced for what we got. Staff all seemed to have a real attitude and thought themselves superior. Walked out feeling very let down and disappointed about what we had hoped to be an amazing and romantic night out. Would not... More

My husband and I spent an enjoyable evening boldly taking our taste buds where they have never been before at our very first 'Iron Chef' owned restaurant. Once a year, we splurge at a crazy expensive NYC restaurant - This year, we chose the tasting menu at Marc Forgione, since we were staying at a Tribeca hotel nearby. We had... More

Marc Forgione's eponymous restaurant is an interesting establishment on quite street (if there is such thing as quite in NYC) in Tribeca. We were running a little late and when we called to confirm that we will still be there, but a little late (usual NYC traffic), we got a curt response that we have 15 minutes grace from the... More

Very good dinner. My wife and I had the roasted chicken (for two), which was outstanding...Our daughters and friend/spouses also enjoyed their dinners....the service was superb - friendly, helpful, efficient, and prompt...My only very minor complaint is that it was a little noisy at prime time (8:30 to 10:00 PM on a Saturday night). Other than that, this place gets... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighborhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighborhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighborhood home.
