Not sure where to start, so many good things to say. I did the awful ... I brought an 8yo with me. I would not suggest this restaurant as child friendly; it's clearly an elegant place where people are spending a great deal of money to have a lovely evening. My daughter is one of 'those' kids; I think she... More

I've been a regular customer of Craft for many years. The ambience is elegant but casual, always moderate or quiet sound levels; the selection of foods varies, but there are always old favorites as well as new choices -- an abundance! The selection of wines is also abundant, and there is a wide price range, with many quite reasonable; the... More

called to let them know we'll be few minutes late. showed up at 705 for a 645 reservation and no issue...we were immediately seated. Sommelier helped us to pick the right wine for our meal which was the 55 day aged ribeye. the steak was cooked perfectly and sliced table side. sides were delicious. will definitely revisit...

I was at Craft on July 30, 2016. We had an wonderful meal and excellent service. The atmosphere at Craft was just as I was hoping. Warm, inviting and approachable. The food was top notch. Standouts were the Scallops, the skate and the Wagyu Striploin. The hen of the woods mushrooms were the best I've ever had. As wonderful at... More

Started off with the corn soup, which was amazing but my lobster sandwich was just so/so. Ended up pulling off the bread and deconstructing since it was falling apart. The interior is modern and up to date and the staff seemed very friendly. Menu seemed to have a variety. I would try again for dinner to get a better gauge... More

We were at Crafts for dinner when we stayed in New York. The place was quite nice and not overcrowded and pleasantly quiet, means being able talking to each other without yelling. We had the Octopus which we shared as appetizer. It was delicious and the sauce was so tasty that we even dipped our bred. The main course, the... More

We have been here in the past and to the location in LA. Something has changed here. The service was okay. The Squash Blossoms were terrible. You used to get a little (food) present when you ended the meal. It does not seem to have the same standards as it did in the past. We were quite disappointed with this... More

After trying the street food in New York, which we did not much fancy and the busy, busy, busy popular places, where the food was good, but it was too much trouble getting it, we decided to settle for a couple of proper restaurants. We chose La Vara in deference to my daughter's partiality for small plates, but of that... More

My wife and I enjoyed a perfect evening at Craft; fluke crudo with melon, stuffed zucchini blossoms, roasted quail, and halibut were all expertly prepared and served. The space is sophisticated, but not stuffy, and we were made to feel welcome by the attentive staff from the moment we arrived. At the end of the meal, we were given scones... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
