This place has a nice atmosphere and is quite quirky. The beef meatballs were really very delicious and some of the nicest I've eaten. Overall though I think some of the side dishes were slightly overpriced and because of the way the ordering process works (you mark on a laminated menu your choices) it's quirkiness mean't it lacked some character.

Moderately OK meat balls, but the white bean side dish was completely tasteless. I asked the ( very pleasant) waiter for some olive oil to make it palatable. He told me they had no olive oil(!) but he could bring me some vinaigrette. He then brought a small dish of lemon vinaigrette, which did in fact improve the beans (... More

Fabulous food!!!! Wonderful service!!!! Great peach sangria!!!! Can't wait to go back. Chicken meatballs, beef meatballs, sweet sausage meatballs all were outstanding. Pasta was a perfect al dente.

A little too rich but not bad. It's not the best. They had run out of beef, i got the chicken. Buffalo chicken meat balls were great appetizer but a little cold.

If you like meatballs and sauce of all kinds (animal and veggie ) you must visit this quaint establishment on the lower east side. The food and the staff have great personalities.

Stopped in to the Meatball Shop as I just happened to be in the area and read good reviews about it online. Didn't disappoint. Greeted as soon as we came in the door and thankfully had a table. Very busy place and deservingly so. Don't be put-off by the waitresses with the hats that read 'BALLS' on them, this is... More

This place is very cosy! Funny menu where you check with a pen what you want. I recommend the kitchen sink, delicious, large meatballs that just melt in you mouth. Very fresh vegetables, a thousands of flavors combined!

I was very skeptical walking in, but the food was fantastic. I had the 4 spicy pork meatballs with spaghetti and the entire plate was out of this world. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the spicy meat sauce was delicious. We also shared a meatball hero with mozzarella cheese. The roll was crispy and soaked up the sauce perfectly.... More

Very affordable and great selection. Can't go wrong here with a visit to the Big Apple! I tried various sauces and types of meatballs. All very good!

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
