Loved the concept. You choose your type of meatball, sauce and cheese. This can be served in a sandwich or with a salad. The service was helpful and incredibly friendly. Loved the vibe of the place. We bought their cookery book and are delighted to see 30 different recipes of meatballs. Will try to return.

Great place, wonderfully interesting food well put together. Styling very good. Service very friendly. Couldn't find fault in any way. Also very good for veggie, with quite a few options.

My daughter and I had a late lunch here on a hot July afternoon. Service was great, drinks were ice cold. Menu was fun and we liked the flexibility. Food was just okay. My daughter got the pizza beef meatballs. I got the spicy beef meatballs with the spicy sauce. The meatballs were very pale, we thought they gave us... More

I wanted to come here last year, but it was jam packed. Got there a little earlier and was able to get a table (the line was out the door shortly afterwards). I ordered the classic beef meatball with spicy meat sauce over rigatoni. The food came out quickly, was piping hot, and absolutely delicious. I would have licked the... More

This is my favourite restaurant in the world. I can't come to NYC without stopping at the Meatball shop in the lower east side. Ive been coming to this location since 2012 and just found out they do brunch as well. I'll probably stop in at least once more before I leave town. Normally get chicken meatballs with tomato sauce... More

We really enjoyed our visit. Great meatballs, with wonderful tasteand texture, fun idea overall and a nice cozy athmosphere to the whole place. Choose your meatballs, pick a side dish and add a salad, as easy as that! Try this place- you won't be disappointed! We and our teenagers loved it!

Food: very good / Service: terrible - please read explanation let's start with the positives: the variety of meatballs and sauces is both simple and delicious. so are the side dishes and vegetables. everything was brought out swiftly and seemed fresh and well-presented for this very innovative concept (well, it's been around for many years). the problems started when we... My boyfriend has been begging me to go here as he is new to NYC and watched the documentary on the making of the meatball shop. Perhaps with its fame and expansion (there are many in the city) it lost something. Our drinks were delicious. He had a Moscow mule and I had the cucumber gimlet. For dinner we ordered... More

We had gone to the Greenwich St. Meatball Shop before and tried this one today - smaller but quainter and just as delicious! Had the risotto and special pork meatballs with Parmesan cream sauce - my daughter had the risotto with mushroom gravy and beef meatballs. We split a side of the daily greens - chilled asparagus, potato and feta... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
