My husband and I have had dinner at Jean Georges several times in just under 1.5 years. We continually try other restaurants and none of them seem to come close to our experiences at Jean Georges. This is one of my favorite restaurants that we...More

Overall the food was not creative and the taste was simply like any other restaurant we would eat in (vs a 3 star Michelin rated restaurant in Manhattan); Having come from Australia and visiting after 6 years - our expectations were high. Unfortunately those expectations...More

I went to this place twice. The location and ambiance is great. Food is not bad. However, given the price level, I would expect a bit more. Thus, average rating of 3 stars.

Several Michelin restaurants offer a significant better experience. Despite a couple of decades of tastings world wide, I did experience the most forced experience at the Jean Georges. The signature menu rushed even though in 2,5 hours we asked for slow down repeatedly. All in...More

This is a fine dining experience and it is an experience. From the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly and ushered to our table. Our first table wasn't to our liking as it was a bit too romantic for our mother/daughter pre-theater dinner...More

Description
Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.
