Have wanted to try Jean Georges forever and I'm glad I finally did. Nothing can beat the hospitality - all around it was a beautiful experience. The food was great too - the toasted egg yolk caviar was our favorite. We also loved our entrees, sirloin and lamb chops cooked perfectly. Everything was good and the overall experience is really... ...elegant setting; dining room surrounded by windows, with Central Park nearby. Pre-fixe lunch had several choices for each course ( including many seafood choices) and was plentiful; tasty rolls & bread, amuse bouche; dessert for bday; and had special bottle of champagne. Staff is very attentive.....Totally decadent experince!

Recently returned to Jean Georges for an absolutely wonderful dinner. Exquisite prix fixe, fabulous wines wonderful sommelier and wait service, but this time round it felt as everyone was trying just a tad to hard. Yes the king salmon was perfectly cooked and the muscovy duck was to die for, desserts were wonderful but some of the soul seems to... More

Having eaten at Nougatine and been largely underwhelmed, my husband and I had hesitations about Jean Georges (JG) for our anniversary dinner. By the end of the meal, all of our concerns had evaporated. We ordered the Late Harvest tasting menu and JG tasting menu, respectively. I think there were about 6 courses each (plus dessert). The courses were approximately... More

It's Jean Georges, so our expectations were high for food and service, and on both counts, we were not disappointed. Relative to other similarly-rated restaurants, though, I would have expected a touch of something extra. We ordered the tasting menu, and the food presentation and service were very good, as was the timing of how the dishes came out. Everything... More

We got a reservation for the VIP area, but since my husband didn't take a suit we couldn't get in (really? In 2016?). So, they put us in the VUP (very unimportant people) area. It is NOISY. The fish dishes were great (not three Michelin stars great, but delicious) but we ordered the stake and it was baaaaaad. All the... More

I am pretty sure that I have never had a meal that was this expensive in my life. Too, I probably have not had one as exquisite as this either. The tasting menu for dinner began with a fabulous Yellowfin tuna ribbons with avocado and a ginger marinade dish, parsnip soup and baked Chatham oysters. My entree was a sea... More

Jean-Georges opened in 1997 to critical acclaim. The jewel of Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s empire, the restaurant offers the very best in fine dining. Consistently awarded four stars by the New York Times and three Michelin stars, Jean-Georges presents exquisitely crafted dishes blending French, American, and Asian influences. The local farmer’s market is the driving force behind the seasonal, ever-changing menu. Chef Jean-Georges is a master at maintaining the essence of ingredients while using them inventively to produce the best flavor. Jean-Georges’ chic and intimate dining room was redesigned by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with striking lighting by L’Observatoire. Impeccable service, tableside preparations, and floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of Central Park and Columbus Circle all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Jean-Georges offers a three-course prix-fixe menu and two six-course tasting menus: a traditional tasting of the chef’s signature dishes, and a seasonal tasting featuring fresh market ingredients. The prix-fixe and tasting menus are available Monday through Sunday for dinner. The restaurant also offers a two-course lunch menu for a terrific value. Gentleman are required to wear a jacket. No jeans, sweatshirts or sneakers allowed. Tie is not required.
