Food was excellent - spicy pasta specialty was some of the best pasta I've ever had. Well worth a visit

A very calculated, but very good, replica of what would have been a Little Italy bistro of 50 years ago. Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc on the sound system, and Sinatra wannabes as servers. Generous portions and tasty extras abound...prices are very high for the cuisine. An experience...

My family and I decided we wanted Italian tonight. Even though we were being directly to Little Italy or Times Sq, we saw that this restaurant was round the corner so tried it out. Initially it looks small and pokey, but soon the rustic and casual atmosphere engulfed us. We had a good 2/3 course meal for $140 including wine... More

Food was average, service terrible, decor outdated, toilets dirty and prices way to high. Waitress more interested in her friends at the bar. This was by far the worst of the 20+ restaurants we visited in NYC. Don't let previous reviews fool you (as we did) - stay away!

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! The prosciutto was honey ham on the pizza and in the calzone. The bottom of the calzone was completely charred. The pizza I ordered had no sauce and was only crust and cheese with raw tomatoes thrown on and the honey ham they tried to pass as prosciutto, which both weren't cooked into the pizza. Never... It's a cozy authentic italian restuarant. I've been coming here regularly, and I've never been let down by anything. The service was amazing! Friendly hosts that makes you feel like home. I've been to tons of italian restuarant in my life, but this one will be on the top of my list!

This is a quaint little place with about 7 tables. It looks like an old school Italian restaurant which was cool. The waitress was nice and efficient. The food was good, but for the price, the portions ar small. I got the baked ziti for about 15.00 which was yummy, but I would have expected to pay about half for... More

This is at least the fifth time I've been to Carbone and it was as great as ever. This time I brought my daughter and 2 work friends and we were treated like family. I love how quaint the atmosphere is and the homemade raviolis are outstanding. Don't miss this restaurant!

I know this is a "popular spot" and kind that I always go into doubting the reputation. On my visit the food was outstanding and maybe the best Southern Italian (I hope the chef doesn't mind me labeling it) I have had outside of Italy. The Tortellini were better that any I have experienced. We also shared the veal chop... More

My husband, son and I went here last week. The place is cozy and the menu was plentiful. However, the portions were miniscule. My husband's chicken, which was very tasty, did not come with any sides and was just two thin pieces of chicken. My son's pasta was enough for your average 10 year old (he's 21). My meal was... Description
Small, intimate place. Run by real Italians, which shows up in the food. The place isn't particularly flashy - I feel as if many people probably pass it by, but inside past the bar it's nice and cozy with brick walls and little Italian signs here and there. Cute place and the prices are fair and the food is really good. Of note is the brick oven pizza -The service is very friendly and generally pretty snappy. The Backyard is now open. Buon Appetito !

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
