I was really excited for this place as it is all over the Internet. I got the cake truffles and two of the cereal milk fro yo with the crunch on the side. It's very pricey with small quantities. It was okay:/ not like amazing. Got a good picture before it melted all over me!

My family and I were excited to try Milk Bar. Unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype. The cookies were pre-packaged and didn't seem freshly baked. The ice cream with cereal topping was nothing special. Can't justify standing in the long line. Bummer.

My husband and I were in the area while visiting New York, and decided to try their famous ice cream. It did not disappoint! The ice cream tastes like cereal in milk, but a much more awesome version of it. I could have this ice cream every single day! Will be back for more next time I'm in NYC.

We decided to try this place for an evening treat because we noticed a line outside and had to have what everyone else was having (the cereal milk ice cream)! However, after ordering and trying the overly priced treat we were surprised that our ice cream tasted more like ice cheese (i.e. it was not a good dessert). It was... More

Came here with the wifey after eating at the Noodle Bar. It wasn't particularly busy, with a line two or three parties deep. The most memorable part was the employee yelling at people, well maybe yelling is a little harsh, forcefully asking customers to keep the door closed. That and the Crack pie...which tastes like it'll give you diabetes, but... More

If you are more visual I highly recommend you check out Devour NYC on youtube and check out their dessert episode. Very informative. Milk Bar is up there with the best of the best for desserts in New York. My favorites are their cereal milk soft serve : made with milk, cornflakes, brown sugar and a pinch of salt, it... More

I really wanted to try their products after seeing their book on display at Chelsea Market. I had planned to have the signature soft serve at their 56th street outlet after some shopping but their machine was being serviced. I was so eager to try that I took the subway down to the east village. I liked it, sweet with... More

We went for a special trip for this place based on hyped reviews online. It was such a disappointment. The cookie was prepackaged, with an artificial ingredients list as long as War and Peace. I have had better at chain coffee houses. The Crack Pie was far too sweet and tasted like undercooked pastry. The ice cream was average, and... More

After read so many reviews about this shop, I put it on my list. I have tried several products from Momofuku. I think the famous instagrammed ice-cream was okay, not that great as I expected. Crack pie was great too. Cookies were very chewy and sweet, they're something good to be souvenir as they're in sealed packages. The surprisingly yummy... More

It's stupid even trying to explain how great the stuff here is. Go all in and get everything. Multiple times.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
