You feel a great energy when you walk into the Glass House Tavern. The decor is soothing and warm and truly makes the customer feel welcome. The prompt, friendly service is delightful and the food is incredible. Executive Chef Craig Cupani has created a contemporary American menu that sets this restaurant apart from the other choices in the neighborhood. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are the emphasis here and the results are fantastic.

Reserved online thru open table and got there a little early. They sat us quickly and were friendly. We had the prix fare menu which included the champagne pear salad, filet mignon, and dessert. The salad was a little strong on the dressing. Steak was...awesome with creamy polenta. For dessert we had the chocolate cake and bread pudding, they are the size of a small muffin but after all the food such a great way to end the mealMore

Went in for a few drinks after work with colleagues and although crowded we got a table. Friendly and efficient table service in a nice ambience. We only had bar snacks but these were very good

This restaurant was picked based on another trip advisor’s comments. Atmosphere is warm and friendly staff. Excellent price for Prixe Fixe lunch and a large selection offered. Salad was nice with lots of fixings without being overwhelming The crab cake was nice size for appetizer...with lump crab. Burger was cooked perfectly (medium rare) & the French fries were crispy like I like it Ordered Malbec glass which was very good on the palate. Overall a very good place for lunch.More

With its terrific location, and ample seating, this is a wonderful choice for pre- or post-theater -- or just because! The menu is interesting, the food beautifully presented and well prepared, the service is thoughtful but not pushy, and the is moderate. What's not to...love?More

Love-love-love! It’s a pleasure to dine where you’re not sitting on top of the next person! Lovely atmosphere, great service and deliciously wonderful menu. We’ll definitely be back!

I was not going to or coming from a Broadway show but rather meeting a friend in the city for dinner. However it was not hard to notice those that were dining in advance of a show and it was clear that this restaurant is...adept at serving these customers and ensuring they have ample time for the theater. I thought dinner was very good. The server asked us if we were going to a show and when we said no, he served us at a slower, relaxing pace - our preference. I had the Chopped Kale Caesar salad to start and my friend had the Apricot Glazed Duck Confit. Both dishes were really good, plated nicely and prepared well. I thoroughly enjoyed my salad. For dinner, I had the Lamb Bolognese and my friend the Seafood Paella. Portions are nice, the meals again were really well prepared and the food was great tasting. I didn't try the Paella but the Lamb Bolognese was so good. We also shared a 1/2 bottle of wine at dinner. I like that they had a selection of half bottles - I guess it makes a lot of sense in an area around Times Square.More

Stopped in for a drink with friends after seeing a play nearby. It's a nice space and after the theatre a comfortable place to relax and talk. Our server was quite good. She sat us, took our orders, checked in on us unobtrusively a few...times...when we decided to get some food to nibble on, she made that happen very quickly too. Honestly, the flat bread pizza was average, but the ambiance and service overshadowed it. Seemed a bit on the expensive side, but what in NYC isn't. My actual rating would be Good...between what I had to chose and average. This may be a bit harsh, but in this area there are a plethora of places, most of which are truly average...and this one is better. I would go there again without hesitation...only next time might skip the offerings from the kitchen,.More

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I think our waiter's name was Elsie and she was wonderful! My partner had pre-theater dinner with risotto as an appetizer which was delicious. We would have enjoyed a larger portion as entree (menu suggestion). Her salmon was also excellent....I had the soup of the day (cream of mushroom) which was the best I've ever had and the fish of the day which was an awesome halibut. The bread was worth mentioning...an assortment all very good. Outstanding all around. I had my partner's warm chocolate cake because she was full. My only complaint was that I didn't get to try my own dessert. We will definitely be back.More

Although we went to a matinee, I agree with the other respondents. I would rather not feel rushed.

As I recall, it wasn't very expensive, maybe $12-15 each. But, honestly, you can find a better restaurant!

Dress at Glass House Tavern is nice casual. Definitely not shirt and tie but sweater and decent pants are perfect. Call them for the Thanksgiving menu or check online. Definitely make a reservation.
