We took the takeaway 3 subs for a very late dinner, it was incredibly tasty and perfect for a light dinner. A good way to recover from flying back on a busy Friday night.

The place is small, it can barely sit 6-8 people and the staff is cool. The real star is the lobster roll! It was delicious! Crab roll was just a little bit fishy for me but then one of the guys offered us a snow crab roll, this one is seasonal but wow it was also good! Ask if they... More

Luke's is my go-to for Lobster cravings -- and for visiting guests. The East Village shop was their first to open years ago, and it's certainly still their best. The lobster, which I believe is still flown in from Luke's dad's place in Maine, is incredibly fresh, the buns are perfectly toasted, and they use just the right amount of... More

Thanks for the awesome review and supporting the East Village! All of our seafood is delivered 2-3 times per week from our sister company - Cape Seafood and can be tracked to the actual dock where it was caught. It's always great to hear from a longtime fan! Hope to see you back in the shop soon! Katie GM Luke's... More

Love lobster rolls but sheesh they are expensive in NYC. A great place to spoil yourself but again, it's so damn expensive. PS Luke's lobster is the best in NYC.

Thank you for the amazing review! Although we wish seafood could be less expensive, dealing with shellfish remains high due to sustainability initiatives and transporting live seafood. That being said, we always strive to serve high quality product to our customers at an affordable price. We hope to see you around the East Village shop soon! Katie General Manager Luke's... More

My boyfriend and I ordered lobster roll and crabmeat roll. Both were very yummy! They weren't fishy at all. The bread was crispy. That texture and flavour wasjust perfect with fresh lobster! Wish there is luke's lobster in Seoul and Hong Kong!

We went to check out this location as it is highly rated. However don't expect to have a lot of sit down space as it's really meant for takeout. The food however was excellent. I had eaten at Portland Maine for a great lobster roll and this is one location that means the expectation. The lobster roll didn't have a... More

Little hole in the wall restaurant, w/ limited seating. Great lobster and crab rolls. No beer/wine, unfortunately. Very casual.

They used too much claw meat in my sandwich which devalued the meal immensely. Taste overall was okay, but would I go again? NO. Happy I tried it - yes, but not a convincing yes.

Thank you for your feedback! We try to provide equal portions of claw and knuckle meat so I apologize that you were not happy with the distribution. I would also recommend trying our lobster tails as a side or featured in our new Wild Blue Salad if you are willing to give us another shot in the future. Thanks again... More

Extremely overrated, wow ! I am SO disappointed... the food was not anything to rave about, very basic seafood salad on a soft toasted roll, I don't understand the excitement about the place, the one compliment I do have is that the staff at the restaurant was very friendly and attentive.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
