Let me preface this review by saying I would chose this diner for breakfast any day over a chain restaurant. Located on the corner it has the benefit of natural lighting from windows on both the South and East walls of the restaurant resulting in a brighter and less cramped or claustrophic feeling than many restaurants in downtown Manhattan. We stopped her for breakfast on a recent trip to the city. It's what you would expect from a diner with reasonable pricing. I had pancakes and bacon. The only negative was the sausage links my daughter had. I'm not sure what that was but I couldn't eat it. Could be a regional difference, tasted more like liver mush. My... More

Murray Hill Diner is what you expect from a good NYC Diner. Really efficient, and the ball service. Eye for detail and lots of staff. Good corner location with booths to look out and watch the world by by. The menu, as you would expect, has something for everyone.

Just around the corner from our hotel, this little gem was the perfect breakfast pit stop. Cute as a button with Christmas decorations. Extensive menu of diner favourites with everything we tried being excellent. Prompt service and good value. Nice vibe.

Clean, not-greasy, reasonably priced diner - we were there for Sunday breakfast - with large menu selection, lots of vegetarian choices. Service is a bit gruff but...welcome to NY City.

Ate here four days in a row for breakfast, as it was close to our hotel (Hotel Chandler, reviewed separately). By the third day the waitress recognised us, which is always a nice feeling. Nothing fancy about the place, but good food at a reasonable price.

We had breakfast at Murray Hill. A warm welcome. Has complimentary WiFi. Good choice in the menu including fry ups to granola with fruit and yogurt. Lots of regular customers evident.

This is a good place to go if you are searching for a breakfast place that opens early - where you can ease the jet lag hangover. The food is typical diner. Huge selection, big portions and very tastefull. Go for the Lumberjack French Toast if you are very hungry. 😊 Staff is friendly.

Enough said. Everything a great NYC diner should be. Lots of small booths make solo patrons feel welcome. Friendly, efficient service. I highly recommend.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
