I bought a coupon from Travelzoo to try this restaurant. I did not have high expectations but I must say that the food and service was fabulous. We will definitely be back. The waiters were so attentive. We loved the different types of sausage, the duck, the salmon and of course the gran Marnier soufflé! We even got a parking... More

Dear Kathleen, Thank you for dining with us; it’s great to hear that we exceeded your expectations. Your kind words about the service you received, and how much you enjoyed your food, are greatly appreciated. We look forward to serving you again and hope that you get that same parking space! Gratefully, Michael Lawrence, DBGB Kitchen and Bar More

My son and I had dinner tonight and had a great experience. I had the duck and it was great. My son ordered the calamari and salad...was a hit too. Great service, neat atmosphere and not too noisy. Thanks to our great server, Charles.

Such a great experience. This place can be described as a high-end diner or an accessible gourmet restaurant. Those are both compliments. Great food, excellent service, decor and reasonable prices. We were checked in on by 3 different people who weren't our server, which was amazing. We were given the history of the restaurant and the decor by a super... More

Got together for an extended family dinner with NYC family - this was their recommended place. Great drink menu options with local beers and exotic wines. Steak tartare appetizer was excellent along with the duck breast. But definitely get the flamed Baked Alaskan, excellent way to end a wonderful dinner.

My husband and I visited here based on the great reviews and the relatively reasonably priced menu. DBGB did not disappoint! We had amazing service, great wine, a great meal and excellent desert. My husband had the burger and I had pasta. Both were excellent. We both had ice cream from desert which was definitely the highlight. I would return... More

We were a large group, so service did seem to take a little longer than usual and some of the served food wasn't hot from the pass (which we could see from our table). But the quality of food and relative price for Manhattan was pretty good.

Made reservation in advance to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. Mentioned birthday in my booking yet we sat though the entire evening and no one mentioned it. What!? The server seemed annoyed with us all evening - perhaps that we weren't ordering more!? We started with a dozen oysters and then shared the prix fixe menu which was more than... More

DBGB offers a wonderful brunch tasting menu that allows you to sample a wide range of their specialities for $29 a person. That is a real deal! While it was a lot of food for two, we were so happy that we got to try so my dishes. We couldn't eat everything, but the opportunity to taste all of Daniel's... More

Have been planning this trip to New York for some months and a highlight was to be our dinner on Sunday night at this restaurant. The service was ok but the restaurant was practically empty when we arrived and never did get busy. The food was not spectacular and given that this is one of Daniel Boulud's restaurant's I was... Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
