LOVED "QUADROTTI" (Pasta with black truffles, corn, chanterelles)! Highly recommend, it is worth coming for! Overall our dinner was great while not everything matched our expectations. Certainly in our top list of restaurants in the US.

I was so pleased with my experience at Marea, and the service matched the quality of the food! Our waiter was from Hawaii, and he answered every question our party had, with a solid knowledge of food, drinks, and what went well together. After seeing a Broadway show, Marea was conveniently within walking distance. A wonderful evening!

Went there in June for a business lunch with 3 other coworkers. I actually am not a big seafood person, but quite enjoyed my meal. One trick we learned from our server was that, when ordering from the lunch prix fixe, we could forgo the listed appetizers and substitute in a half order of any of the pastas/risotto. This was... I had dinner with the family there for the first time. The service staff were very attentive, and the food was really good. I recommend the Palipo, both grilled and raw. All the pastas were good as well.

You can eat better for half the price in other italian restaurants. Complete scam. Service is good but the food is nothing spectacular. Reputation high above reality

Excellent food & service. We spent 10 days in NYC, and our dinner here was easily a highlight. If you're going to eat here, you must take full advantage of the seafood. Its their speciality, and they do it very very well.

I've been to Marea twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed it both times. I sat a the bar each time which for me is more fun and it presents an opportunity to meet with interesting people. It is clearly upscale with a mix of local people and business folks. The bartenders are knowledgeable and efficient. Food is a combination of... More

I had such high hopes for Marea, especially being New Years Eve. The food was such a disappointment. The Gnocchi tasted like rubber, and the Semifreddo was tasteless. The staff was missing in long periods of time, but did however make a nice show around midnight. Sadly, not worth the visit.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
