smiling ice -cream

Their ice cream is wonderful, but what makes them more special is the smiling face behind the counter. I sat there , had my bitter chocolate ice cream and watched people. Instead of having big deserts with flour, I always go for ice -cream.

This place is tucked toward the back of Chelsea Market. Fight your way back there and order some of the best gelato NYC has to offer. I had the dark chocolate and the hazelnut. Both were excellent.

We walked the High Line, went to the Whitney, and didn't have time to wait the 45 minutes to eat lunch at the Whitney so we headed over to Chelsea Market. We had great pasta (a different review) but I had noticed that Chelsea Market had a gelato vendor so I suggested we head to L'Arte del Gelato for dessert.... More

On a rainy New York afternoon I spotted this gelato & thought the ice cream looked really tasty. I loved the flavours on offer & chose a small cup (Coppetta Piccola) of ginger ice cream whilst my hubby asked for chocolate ($4.75 each). There was a slight breakdown in communication as we only got served one cup of ginger/chocolate. I... More

We had walked the High Line and the first place inside the door in the L'Arte de Gelato. We have tried to find a good gelato since a visit to Florence, but although good, most have just not been as good. L'Arte del Gelato gave us the 'fix' we were looking for. Delisious and refreshing.

Went here for dessert over Labor Day weekend. Very good gelato - with a great selection of flavors. We had vanilla, cinnamon and strawberry. Prices were reasonable. We just got back from Florence, Italy in May and this was very good compared to the real deal in Italy!

The gelato carts are a delicious addition to summer in NYC. This is a great treat during pre- or post-performances at Lincoln Center. There are a wide variety of flavors and you can even combine two flavors together. This is one of the most refreshing ways to cool off and l look forward to this all year!
