Went for a double birthday celebration. Four adults. Good eater, good drinkers. Reservation made four weeks out. Very crowded, happening place. First table was literally in the serving station. We were switched, with an accommodating attitude to a snug corner. Place is very noisy. Forget conversation. Wait and busing staff are really minimal. Very casual in all respects including no... Wow!! Amazing food, ambience, and service! I'm hesitant to write this review as I don't want making reservations even tougher, but gotta give praise where it's due... Coming in for a girls' night out with a friend, we were blown away by how delicious the restaurant smelled and couldn't wait to eat. We shared the Chicories Salad Beef Carpaccio Tajarin... More

Felt like italian, stumbled onto this place almost by chance... and how lucky we were! Everything was sooooo delicious we want to go back again very soon and try some more dishes. Truly exceptional food. A bustling and modern west village ambiance, kind staff and a very complete italian wine list to round up the offering and you have a... More

This is my fourth visit here. Every time we go we bring different friends and everyone gets hooked on the incredible food. I can't single one item out because everything I've had was fantastic. Besides the food the wait staff and the bartenders are probably the nicest in NYC. I can't stop raving about this restaurant because the food and... More

Great modern italian restaurant with good atmosphere. The waiter was helpful and makes good recommendations if you're contemplating choices. The roasted mushroom appetizer has great flavor - has a good kick yet not overwhelming. I could eat the whole plate easily! As far as pasta, all the pastas are delicious. The spaghetti is one if my favs though. I know... More

L'Artusi has been on my radar but I hadn't had a chance to check it out until now. We didn't have a reservation and the place was full on a Monday night but were seated at the bar within about 10mins of arrival, less than the 25-30 we had been told. I was amazed how packed the place was for... More

Overall our favorite restaurant during our stay in the NY-NJ area. This is a tough reservation but that is what good daughters are for :). Four of us enjoyed an excellent dinner and great service. Super busy place but we had the ideal table upstairs in the corner by the window. That spot is a bit sheltered from all the... More

Showed up without booking in mid week so had to wait about 30 minutes. All dishes were original and extremely tasty. The place is a bit pricy but overall worth it. Would recommend siting at the bar for couples, to enjoy better service. Perhaps not for big groups on a night out since the place is noisy.

When I lived in New York, this was one of my husband's and my favorite spots, so naturally we wanted to visit when we were in the city for a weekend trip. Unfortunately the experience did not live up to our past memories of the restaurant. The food wasn't as spectacular but mainly the service was quite bad. Our server... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
