Nothing gives folks a greater feeling of warm comfort and nostalgia than classic American diner fare, and we’re bringing ours to the table with plenty of retro flair at the Viand Diner & Bar. Starting your morning with us? Start it right with an omelet or pancakes piled high. If you’re popping in for lunch, one of our hearty burgers or old school sandwiches will always do the trick. When it comes to your evening meal though, there’s no way you can pass up on our Famous Turkey Dinner paired with our Upside Down Negroni. Join us in our retro space soon for classic diner delights.

To me, the breakfast isn't as good as the lunch. The eggs were overcooked and dry. The salads are delicious. The atmosphere is good and the service is very friendly. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
I was in NY in the end the end of February. In the Viand Diher & Bar I had my first breakfast in NY. It was wonderful scrambled eggs.
About one week later I was going near by on the cold evening and went on...More

It was a cold and rainy Saturday morning and we were looking for a place to eat that didn’t have a 30+ minute wait. We were told we could be seated in a few minutes. The place was busy but not crowded. We ordered the...More
Worth the hike! We walk up for breakfast from 51st to have breakfast here when we are in town. It has its own ambience. No matter what you order it’s a perfect, delicious and filling breakfast. I alternate between the oatmeal (in any season) and...More
This Upper West Side newcomer is a sibling of the other Viand diners in Manhattan. At first glance it looks more sophisticated, thanks to a small but gleaming cocktail bar at the far end. The food in fine but man, the music: Dean Martin at...More
We went here for the first time last night as its right around the corner from us and we were passing by. First, we were completely surprised by how amazing the people and service were. We wanted to order food to go, so we sat...More
I had brunch here recently on a visit to NYC. The service was really very good, even though the place was crowded. The servers and hostess were particularly attentive to the small child who was with us (and to other small children) - making sure...More

Why walk farther, when there's a great place right next door? After staying the night at Hotel Beacon, we were looking forward to breakfast. Viand has retained the charm and feel of the original "diner" - with lots of wood and tiling, small booths and...More

We're so glad you enjoyed our diner charm and the omelets! We have so many wonderful regular guests, but not every day do we get to hear how special we make them feel. Let us know if there's anything we can do to improve.
On a very cold, NYC morning, after checking our luggage at the Hotel Beacon, literally right next door, we walked into the toasty warmth of the Viand Cafe for breakfast. A hearty breakfast, it was! We both enjoyed omelets- I had an asparagus, mushroom and...More
