As a lover of African food, I was thrilled to try this South African restaurant in mid-town. The food was deliciously prepared, interesting and the restaurant layout itself was trendy and fun. I recommend and will return!

A charming South African restaurant in what looks like a large, renovated wine cellar near Hell's Kitchen. You'll find excellent food at a reasonable price. I had the Lamb Bunny Chow - a curry rubbed lamb stew served in a sourdough bowl. It was awesome.

We had a fabulous lunch there yesterday: pureed broccoli soup, grilled salmon with delicious fresh veggies, and Malva "pudding" (actually a yummy moist cake like a better version of gulab jamun) with gelato for only $12.50!!! Hope to return tomorrow!

I have lived in South Africa so i got really exited to have biltong in NYC. We loved the lamb ribs, the avocado lobster salad and the apricot cake desert! We also highly enjoyed the cocktails , candlelight and music .

I didn't really feel a South African influence on the menu. Nationality aside, the food is very good and fairly tasty. The place itself looks better during night with the candles so you don't see all the electrical wires and water infiltrations going on in...More

The Boerewors appetizer and Bobotie main were OK but nothing special. I'm a beer guy so can't quite judge the wine angle here but, it sure did look like they specialize in wine: large racks along the walls and quite the wine menu. Cute place,...More

The food was tasty but the portion sizes were really really small, some of the main courses really looked like appetizers ... In the end if you leave a restaurant hungry after spending $100 that is really bad and rather avoid the place

Went there with 3 other friends to get a quick snack before a jazz concert. We did not order any wine, only food and soft drinks. The owner went to see us and became really insistent and try to get us to order some wine....More

"Been to restaurant twice before and wanted to share a taste of South Africa with guests from Switzerland and Boston. Poorly managed restaurant and not attentive to diners needs. Food good but not inexpensive. Most offensive was requesting staff to turn down Pop music (not...More
