We stumbled upon this restaurant during a NYC visit. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and delicious food and wine. Family of 5 with three teenagers. Highly recommend!!

Well, the idea of having RSA food in New York was dreamy being away from home already 6 months. So we gave it a try. The specials menu was confusing written by someone who appeared to be in 5th grade on the back of an old piece of paper. We skipped the specials rather. Settled for 1 appetizer: peri peri... More

If you are not used to better or are hard set to find South African food you will be fine - the food leaves much to be desired and are overpriced for what it is. Do not bother with desserts, this is the biggest let down of the entire place. Service was terrible, only 2 staff on duty to run... More

The menu is what made me try this place and the food was worth it. We had a selection of tapas, the ostrich sliders were overcooked for my likely but the sliders were very tasty. The peri peri chicken wings were good with the sauce they came with. The Portobello & goat cheese was awesome and the crab cake mushrooms... More

No wait to get a table which is nice but seemingly indicative of the experience to come. It is so dark here tha t we had to use cell phone lights to read the menu. The decor is painted brick with very small art work and nothing visually stimulating. The staff is very nice and the highlight of the meal.... More

We were looking for a dinner spot "away from the bustle" and tried this because they had "Fish Parcel" (essentially fish and chips) which worked for our picky teenage eater (except of the calamari thrown in which I ate). My husband and I each had a curry (his was salmon with roti and mine was chicken with naan. Both were... More

Met up with my family and out of the country cousins who were in NYC. Wanted something unusual and had a wonderful meal. The food was different. If you haven't had South African food it includes unique meats like Ostrich, unique sauces like Peri-Peri, alot of seafood and an indian influence. We had a feast. It was relatively quiet and... Although I couldn't identify what made South African cuisine unique it was yummy.. The ostrich sliders were dense and dry but the ostrich steak was tender and delicious. My husband's duck was cooked perfectly. The peri peri sauce was delicious too. We were there for a birthday and they provided a great firework like candle and played some upbeat music... More

Staff were more interested in their cellphones than the customers. Too loud music. Cold coffee, you even have to ask for milk for your coffee. Would not recommend.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
