PLEASE believe when we say servings are insanely large. Every plate easily serves 4 hungry adults. Mussels with white wine and garlic was blissful. Large plump and delicious with the provided bread.
Angel hair pasta with red meat sauce perfect
Although each table was occupied...our service was fast and friendly. The food arrived much sooner than I thought possibleMore
This is a great restaurant no matter what some people have tried to make of a bad situation. They have every right to refuse service to anyone at anytime, it’s their restaurant. I’ve been there many time and look forward to going back. We need...to look at racist accusations from the inside out. I never had any issue with these good and hard working folks.More
I ordered online on Friday July 9th for pickup on Saturday July 10th at 4pm, for my Husbands birthday dinner. I ordered the Baked Clams with white sauce, Chicken Scarpariello, Shrimp Scampi, and Escarole which was the absolute worst!! I was given a free cheesecake...for having to wait an additional 30 minutes for my order as it was not ready at 4pm. However, I appreciated the free cheesecake, which was nice customer service gesture and the ladies at the take out counter were helpful. Unfortunately, like the rest of the meal, the cheesecake was awful. Anyhow, regarding the dinner, the Scampi was extremely salty and oily, the baked clams were also extremely salty and the breading was wet and mushy. The Chicken Scarpariello was blackened, flavorless, dry and hard and last the escarole was slimy. My total order was $212.09, biggest waste of money ever spent. After reading so many great reviews regarding this restaurant, I was deeply disappointed and my husbands 55th birthday dinner was ruined!! I will never, ever go to this place again. I attempted to call the restaurant to discuss my disappointment with a manager but unfortunately was not able to get thru. We ultimately discarded the entire meal as it was not edible. I am writing this review only due to my complete dismay and hope that no one else ever have this experience. The only reason I give this experience 1 star is because the customer service associates at the take out counter were very attentive and responsive to my delayed order.More
Best Italian food ever! Our service was great! We got their salad tossed in their Italian dressing. The food and dessert were....muah (pressing fingers together and kissing them like Italians do). Found out there was one on the west coast in Vegas and now it’s...a tradition to go.
Unfortunately, when coming back to visit NYC the restaurant was temporarily closed. It looked under construction. Hope to come back soon!More
Have frequented Carmines for years so I was disappointed to see that they have declined so drastically after COVID. We ordered take out this past Sat from the 44th street location. Penne pasta with Chicken Parm.
I have had this dish dozens of times before...and it is great. This time? 2 small pieces of chicken (burnt on the edges) and wayyyy overcooked pasta. It was barely edible for $50. When I am spending $50 for dinner for 2 people, I expect the food to be edible, especially in NYC. I would not return here anytime soon. Extremely disappointed.More
I met a friend here for lunch and was initially cautious, because chain Italian places can be pretty mediocre (this restaurant has a couple of other locations in the city, as well as in Las Vegas), but the food was absolutely fantastic. I had the...Pomodoro angel hair pasta, which was delicious, and the portion size was *huge* - I was eating leftovers for days afterwards. My friend's chicken parmigiana was equally delicious! Food is served family-style, so everything is meant to be shared. The service was impeccable without being obtrusive. The food is priced to the quality without breaking the bank. Definitely make reservations, as it can get really busy here.More
