No thrills but great for the night owl. This place is open and available at all hours. Service is great even at 4AM. Definitely will be back.

Hectors is a meatpacking staple and hasn't changed in the last 10 years. You can't go wrong with the bacon egg n cheese

I came here after drinking across the street and got a tuna melt. Probably a bad choice right out the gate?? Definitely not the worst tuna melt I've ever had and I didn't get sick...so what more can you ask for? It's a no-frills diner....Manage your expectations and you'll be pleased.More

Just at the lower end of the HighLine, this is a proper diner with efficient and accurate service. They do a great breakfast!

We took a trip down from midtown to check it out. Weren’t disappointed either. Too much chic, shallow hipster rubbish in the area but Hectors hangs in there. On our visit clientele was us brits a french family, a gang of construction workers and a...bookish Greenwich Village type. Felt like a bit of real, local NYC. All enjoying good honest food at great prices. Had a Hero sandwich stuffed with meatloaf coleslaw and dill pickle, which to us English sounded perverse and mad but it works!!!!!More

After walking the High Line we wanted somewhere to have lunch and after looking in the overpriced hipster places we came across Hector's. Inside it is your archetypal American diner. The menu is not too long and the prices are very good. The waiter that...served us was polite and funny and the food was great - we had 2 Philly Cheese Steak Heros, a Meatball Marinara Hero and a bowl of Spaghetti Marinara. All were tasty and well cooked. Recommended if you are at the south end of The High Line.More

Happened upon this place while looking for an alternative to the tourist traps at the end of the HIgh Line walk way. Four of us ate there - the food was excellent and so was the service. It’s a no frills diner used by locals...and the NYPD which seemed like a good sign. Recommended.More

Recommended by the staff at the Jane Hotel which is nearby, Hector's Café & Diner surpassed our expectations -- great food, efficient and friendly service, all at very fair prices.

We went to Hectors as it was at the end of the High line. There was loads of choice and lots of locals eating there too, which is always a good sign. As a group of two adults and one child we ordered two breakfast...omelettes and a ham sandwich. All portions were more than generous, omelettes came with a fried potato / mash type side and toast. There was more than enough to eat. The ham sandwich for our four year old was delicious- and the most ham on a sandwich I have ever seen! Great value, for three dishes and two drinks it came to about $30 something. Well worth a visit and better than the other touristy type places. A great place to stop at the end of the high line.More
