Doing some research on the area, we came across Los Tacos No.1 from several recommendations by locals. It’s fair to say the place is pretty hidden in Chelsea Market and while there are some brilliant eateries around , some do noticeably come across as more pricey than others. Los Tacos No.1 isn’t much to look at initially and comes across as very much cantina-style; you order and pay , hand over the ticket to the cook, they ask if you have any preferences and then you pick up and go. However, it was a good sign from the start that this place was absolutely heaving with locals and crowds alike . The options on the menu are selective but they are listed clearly on the board, from carne asada, nopal, abodaba, pollo and of course quesadillas and burritos. We ordered two carne asada ( beef), a chicken and nopal ( cactus) tacos on corn tortillas with all the sides ( onion, cilantro and guacamole) alongside two apple sodas. The service was amazing and attentive and friendly particularly with how busy it was. The total came to less than $35.00 which is hard to beat compared to a lot of places in NYC. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious— the cactus was an option which was a bit unusual but surprisingly, and the beef was proper chargrilled and lean. Hands down one of the best places we’ve been to in NYC for tacos. A small tip though, especially for those going on weekends, try and get there for a reasonable time as it can get very busy with the lunch rush.

Final full day in New York City and I needed a taco fix. Found lostacosno1 nearby where the food is fresh, prepared quickly and staff are extremely friendly. If you speak Spanish, even better. Although there is often a queue, today only around a half dozen people were in front of me. Once I placed my order, I waited in a line where your food is made fresh in front of you. You’ll be asked if you want flour or corn tortilla, and then you’ll be asked if you want the free toppings: onion, cilantro, guac, salsa. I ordered a corn taco and a corn quesadilla “with the lot”. I also bought a #horchata which was soooo tasty. Can’t put my finger on what the ingredients were but don’t care. Soooo good. There is only standup benches to eat at or you can takeaway. There is a bench with serviettes, cutlery and extra toppings. Great concept and happy to know they are spread across the country. Would dine here any day of the week. #lostacosno1 #lostacosno1nyc #lostacosno1newyork @lostacos1 #thewanderingreviewer #usa2024 #newyork2024 #freshtacos #freshquesadillas

Excellent chicken tacos with guacamole sauce. The service is very well organized and fast, but if you go here during meal times you will find a long queue. We went around snack time and didn't find anyone, after half an hour the queue was long but it moved quickly!! Still, it's worth a snack

This was one of the Instagram famous places we wanted to try during our recent trip to NYC. It's located right near Times Square. We arrived close to closing time so they had some items sold out. We were able to try their steak and chicken tacos which we took to go. The queues here tend to be long but move fairly quickly. It's tough to find a spot to eat in so we opted to take ours away and eat at our hotel. We found the tacos themselves to be quite underwhelming and a little overpriced. The steak one in particular lacked any flavouring and the meat was very dry. Overall, we wouldn't say it's worth the queue or that it lives up to the hype you see online. We've had better tacos here in the UK.

This particular Mexican restaurant specializes in what its name says, tacos. Generally the store is very small and the people are inexperienced, so they wait in queue outside to get in and of course you have to eat fast to sit down! We took some tacos and some cesiya, with various fillings to have a full view. What I can say with certainty is that they were quite delicious, but they ⁇ weren’t worth the money we gave and the reputation they’ve gotten. In a few words very bad for nothing! As a tourist, however, it might be worth a visit if you want to try something different!

Not as good as Tacos El Gordo in Las Vegas/San Diego,LA Mexican comida or food in Mexico but they try. To add insult to injury it’s more expensive. I guess I like how you can get unlimited Pico de gallo, salsa and/or limes if you wish. Their Pastor spit looked a bit charred. If you’re looking for alternative classic delicious Mexican meats like Tripe, Buche, Suadero, Lengua, Sesos or Chicharron you won’t find those offerings here. They only offer Asada, Pastor y Pollo. Overall it’s aight.

Super fresh tacos. Not a big fan of New York food so ate here every day for 5 days. Tried most of their dishes and the food was consistently fresh, tasty and inexpensive. Worth the queue which moved surprisingly quickly. If they had seats it would be the perfect place. Will definitely be back on our next trip.

Great option for a quite bite if you are craving Mexican Tacos. It’s the McDonalds of Tacos .Great flavors and quick service. We had Chicken tacos back-to-back for four days at various locations in the New York City. The one at the 125 Park Ave, New York, NY 10017 was the best. We also tried the one near to the Penn Station and also the one close to Time Square . The guacamole and the sauce were mouthwatering and the chicken was grilled and cut to the right pieces. My daughters tried the Aguas Frescas and its highly recommended. Definitely a must go if you are in the New York and around Manhattan/Time Square

We was recommended to go here by a friend who said that these tacos were unreal…. I did think how could can a taco be…. WOW these tacos were the best I have ever eaten! I would reccomend ordering 2-3 PP depending on how hungry you are. We ordered 1 each just for a snack but wished we had 2! The line was out the door when we arrived however it moved quickly and everyone eats up pretty fast! It was standing only so we ate then left but I would 100% go back! 5 🌟

Since it was delicious I am unable to give a lower rate but it is pretty crowded, you can’t sit down and people seem to be frustrated because of that. But you should try it at least one cause it’s very yummy. Tacos are pretty small though, and I’m not a great eater but 2 tacos were’t enough for me, I should have asked for 3.

Unmissable! Simply the best taco and quesadilha ever! Despite the long line, it moves super quickly and you can have a wine or beer while you wait. The chicken one is very spicy, but the beef one, despite being a little spicy too, is part of the Mexican seasoning and is divine!

Los Tacos No.1 was recommended to us as a "not to be missed" experience! We dropped our luggage at our hotel when we arrived and headed straight to eat! After about a 20min wait, we ordered our meal with the help of a fellow customer and the cashier. Glad to see the vegetarian option of Grilled Cactus (AMAZING!) and meat options for my husband! The cashier let us taste the drinks before ordering and then, we chose the Horchata and Tamarindo Juice! Both were perfect choices! Wish we could have gone back again .... can't wait for our next trip!

No okay!!! We went on the last of our 10 days in New York. The fun atmosphere reigns supreme, the food was EXCELLENT and the service impeccable. Prices?? Absurd! We spent €23 on two tacos, a tortilla chip with guacamole (spectacular) and a fanta. I assure you that we left super full. Absolutely go there.

Overcrowded place, an incredible queue to reach the cash register. Then the service was fast. Frankly it's not worth it, it's high cost food for the quantity that is served. Better to opt for other venues, in my opinion.

Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
