We dined at a sidewalk table in July 2020 - among the first weeks allowing outdoor dining instead of pick-up/delivery only. Charming owner served us a deliciously home-cooked meal, with obvious pride and pleasure of family recipes prepared with love. Quality of the ingredients is...everything because there is not a lot of "sauce" on the dishes. This is "pure" Italian. As it is a salumeria, we made sure to sample the classics - shared salads of Bresaola & Arugula, and the Buratta starter - perfection. Main dishes were varied, my house-made salsiccia was perfectly spiced and roasted, came with a platter that complemented the earthy sausage perfectly. Others had porchetta sandwich or the pork belly - every one savored until the plates were empty but I think my salsiccia platter was the winner. We shall return to try the house-made Caponata and desserts - we did not have room to eat more on this visit. the location is ideal - near Broadway, Lincoln Center, Central Park.More

This has been a good restaurant for the dine-in experience, but even giving the benefit of the doubt for the pandemic, the food I picked up was very mediocre and overpriced. The salad was absolutely basic, just lettuce and olive oil. The soups both were...mediocre as was the main pasta with meat dish. Regarding the vegetarian dishes, the eggplant had way way too much oil, while the cauliflower was good. For desert, the sorbet was OK, but the apple pie with cream was very good. All in all, paid way too much money for what we got both in terms of volume and quality. As I remember, the dine-in experience was a good deal better, in the past.More

Lots of variety in great food and wine at this upper west-side restaurant. The delicious salumi and cheeses are for sale in the enotecca part of the restaurant.

This is a wonderful tiny spot right near the 72nd St 1/2/3 stop. Snag a table, order a beautiful meat and cheese platter and a lovely glass of wine and pretend you are in a piazza in Italy. Enjoy.

Salumeria Rossi is a nice upper west side Italian spot with a congenial, personable host and attentive staff that offers top notch charcuterie a precise but not extensive wine list and Italian standards that are generally good but not so overwhelming. My minestrone soup was...great , my partners lasagna good and my orecchiette broccoli rabe and sausage was delectable but by all the reviews I have to say I was expecting to be overwhelmed . I’ll certainly return when I’m in the neighborhood and understand it’s NYC but for a big guy like me the tight quarters did not enhance my dining experience , having been to IL Mulino and others I do know tight quarters.More

We walked into Salumerio Rosi just by chance and are now unconditional fans. Greeted and seated by the young owner Andrew Lascalzo (I so hope I spelled that right) we were immediately impressed by the quality, originality and freshness of the products in the cases...and the artistic presentation of the meals served around us. We live in Europe and immediately recognized the authenticity, respect and even love of tradition and fine ingredients so evident everywhere in this restaurant. The service was attentive and the food was crafted, that’s the word. I probably have never had better olives- the secret? Ask Andrew. I would return in a heartbeat. There was fresh rosemary tucked into each linen napkin. I chose seared scallops that were so fresh they were almost sweet. We had ricotta cheesecake with whipped cream and a latte afterwards- REAL coffee, I might add !. Delicate and delicious flavors with every course. It would have been obscene to return for dinner... but I was tempted.More

Popped in here as a last minute decision on the recommendation of a friend and thankfully they managed to find us a table after about 15 minutes. We went as a family and had a wonderful meal. For starters we shared the Coppa e Burrata...and a plate of cured meats. Both were delicious and were sufficient to keep a carnivorous teenager happy. For mains my partner and I both had the gnocchi. This was quite simply the best gnocchi we had ever had. They make it with ricotta instead of potatoes which makes the “pillows” wonderfully light and soft. The sauce was a simple but beautiful combination of tomatoes and basil. The Vermentino 2017 was excellent as a smooth and not over powering accompaniment. Outstanding and all very reasonably priced for NYC. Make sure you book to avoid being disappointed.More

We may have lunch here every time we visit NYC. We split the Ricotta with roasted pear followed by a large plate of home made pasta with sausage (probably the best I have ever tasted) a glass of montepulciano d’abruzzo and finishing off with splitting...the chocolate mouse and cappuccino. The food, service and atmosphere were all top class. Maybe a little pricey but it is New York. I will definitely return.More

This was one of my dining highlights on a recent trip to New York and New Jersey. It was chosen by a friend who lives in NJ and who'd persuaded me to come and see the Tedeschi Trucks Band at the nearby fabulous Beacon Theatre....There is a great selection of food and I enjoyed every mouthful. We sat at the bar but that did not detract from the experience. We could have a chat with a staff member on the other side. What struck me was that despite the buzzing atmosphere and fairly full restaurant, you could see a team of people working together to provide a great experience. Yes New York can be expensive but I think Salumeria Rosi is good value by NY standards and it's just across the road from the Beacon Theatre. Best to book well in advance I think.More

We found this place on our first day after a long walk around Central Park and UWS. We sat at the bar for a later lunch. We started with a couple glasses of white wine and the coppa e burrata. Delicious. We then ordered cacciatorino...and salami calabrese. The cacciatorino was a surprise! So tasty. We ordered the spicy version. We then had the rigatoni. The pasta was perfectly al dente. They had a good wine selection and we each had a couple glasses of very nice whites. The service was good. The staff worked well together as a team. They were very organized. I am happy the couple places we tried before we stumbled on to this restaurant did not work out. We were very happy with our experience.More
