Worth the line, it's long but loves reasonably quickly! That mystery sauce makes my mouth water even thinking about it now!

There are a lot of halal street foods in NYC. You have to make sure you go to the right now. If the line is not long, then it's the wrong one. Best NYC food! You would think my favorite restaurant in NYC would be a steakhouse or a pizza place, but no, this is my favorite place to eat... More

We smelled this before we saw it and it had a long line that was moving pretty fast so we stopped. There are a lot of other halal carts but this one has a the best gyros and plates. Tons of meat and a great white sauce, Pita is very soft and fresh, the $5 sandwich is a truly amazing... More

This food stand is one of my go to places when visiting the Museum of Modern Art. The sandwiches and platters are so good and really filling. They give you a nice size portion for your money. This is why the lines are so long. Their combination plates are the best loaded with meat, rice and salad and with a... More

Every time I need a quick and reasonable lunch and the weather is nice, I order on of their chicken and gyro combination sandwiches and a Coke and eat it in the court yard across the street from the Museum of Modern Art. It is so nice to get your sandwich and just people watch. The sandwiches are huge and... More

This little food cart puts out excellent mixed plates and gyros. Favorite is mixed plate with chicken/gyro rice. Excellent comfort food. Line can be very long, especially late night so be prepared to wait. Suggest Extra white sauce and very little hot sauce to top it off, unless you like your food extremely spicy. Highly recommend.

This is by far the best street food in all of Manhattan, however, make sure you use the chilli sauce sachet sparingly, it's very spicy! The packet does give a warning but read this a little too late and kind of spoiled my meal the first time, however, the food was fantastic and well worth $7

The aroma of the warm food wafts through. It is but impossible to avoid it, the lines can get long but well worth the wait. And top off with the hot sauce-white sauce combination! Chicken and rice is what I had.. Unbeatable..

I discovered this place years ago when I was staying at the Hilton Midtown right nearby. Now I make a point to go every time I'm in NYC. There are many other halal food stands, but this one is consistently good. (the line should clue you in to this) Don't forget to ask for extra white sauce . . .... More

Casually came upon the cart and friend said it was a popular spot....we were in line already just from the inviting smell! First time we had the lamb and falafel gyros! I am dreaming of it now! Second time we had the bowls and that was soooo wonderful too! Third time we brought to our daughter as a late night... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
