We have visited several times most recently with friends from San Francisco. As always, the food is superb and the wine list great. Our friends loved the restaurant!
After a brunch experience at a nearby restaurant that left us frustrated and still hungry, my mom, son, and I went to RDV. We were not disappointed. RDV is decorated in white tiles and a lighter shade of blue, with interesting light fixtures. It's a...very Parisian look--which makes sense, since RDV is a French cafe. We were seated right away and, unlike our previous stop, we were also served right away. My wife and daughter showed up a few minutes later. Again, service was quick. We ordered, collectively, the sunshine bowl (yogurt, pearled farro, honey, fruit), the summer salad (arugula, melon, feta mousse, mint), the french toast, and the smoked salmon platter. Nothing disappointed. The french toast was loaded with fruit--both fresh figs (a rarity!) and macerated stone fruits. The stone fruits were especially lovely--still crisp and bursting with flavor. The smoked salmon platter was ample. The sunshine bowl also had plenty of fresh fruit, again including fresh figs. We enjoyed our experience and will be happy to return.More
Stumbled across this little gem of a restaurant on a recent trip. We visited on a Wednesday (which is half price wine ;) and had a lovely meal. Atmosphere is cozy and the wait staff attentive. The octopus appetizer was charred nicely and the foie...gras was complemented by a candied fennel that added just the right hint of sweet licorice. Our table has the scallops over orzo which needed to be eaten together as the orzo was bland and the scallops salty... BUT together they were lovely. There were enough scallops to pair with the orzo so the meal was complete with not a lot of orzo left over. The reason for the 4 stars is the fact that the duck was slightly overcooked although the fat was rendered nicely. Would definitely return.More
I was nicely treated by the staff, who were really helpful when I was choosing my meal. A cozy environment makes you feel like home
The food is good, the manager Mehdi is very pleasant. However, the level of noise can become unbearable. Also, I think they need more people on a Sunday morning where there are so many customers.
I live in the neighbourhood, but last night was the first time I went to Rendezvous. We went for a friends' dinner and we had a great time. The place is cute and the food and the wines are outstanding. The cassoulet is to kill...for and so was the bacon wrapped monk fish special. I recommend it!More
Y’all... Rendezvous - RDV Harlem just became our favorite thing in NYC. Unreal service. They went way out of their way to make our visit delightful & significant. I took my daughter to NYC for a little getaway before her sister is born, and they...went above & beyond any expectations to really blow us away. Rosemary accents everywhere nearly brought us to tears. It truly is an herb of remembrance. When li’l sis arrives, I can’t wait to bring the whole family.More
What a find! We loved everything we ate and drank. The croque monsieur we had at happy hour was absolutely better than those we had in Paris. The selection of appetizer spreads was so inventive, tasty, fresh and healthy. Great wine selection representing many regions...and flavor palates. The staff was warm, attentive and hospitable. We will definitely be back.More
Over the past year that I have visited this restaurant, it has become my home away from home; my other "living room". The restaurant has gone through some changes as it settles into Harlem, but I hope it is here to stay. I have eaten...nearly everything on the menu and can say that the chef takes great care in ensuring that each dish is of the highest quality. Top-notch ingredients and wine is selected for the menu, and yet the happy hour menu is one of the best deals, if not the best, in the neighborhood for quality and price. I have found it difficult to drink wine from other places in the neighborhood because they have spoiled me with the quality of wine here! The food is always delicious and on par with other restaurants downtown. Chef Kfir is always visible, visiting tables and explaining each dish or the wine, and the staff always makes you feel like a member of their family. They will have outdoor seating soon, so this is a bonus! I cannot say enough about this space; it is a gem in my neighborhood and a great experience each time.More
