Recommended this restaurant by our hotel concierge. They managed to find us a table at short notice for our family of 5. We were made very welcome in this traditional New York eatery which was buzzing with guests. Kids had plenty to choose from with dedicated menus and both my wife and I opted for the set menu and upgraded... More

When I'm in NY I always step by to grab something to eat. Food is PERFECT, we ate steaks with mushed potatoes and calamari in tomato sauce- highly recommend. Unfortunately this time waiter acted like he didn't care about us so it impacted a little bit on our evening.

You can't walk a block without hitting a steakhouse in this part of Manhattan, so the competition is fierce. The food at Bobby Van's was good, but not perfect - our sirlion steaks were a little over-cooked, while the thicker filet minon was a little undercooked. It wasn't much, not worth sending the food back, but it was there. The... More

It was a hot, sultry Saturday evening in New York City. The streets were unusually quiet as many of the locals had fled for the Hamptons - or wherever - to escape the heat. It was not a night for steak. But I was craving one anyway and New York is my mecca for great steak. We had already been... More

I hired a private room for a business meeting with around 15 people. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Order the steak - it melts in the mouth.

The food is very good and the service is excellent. My husband had the rib eye, it was the biggest steak I've ever seen! I had the seafood pasta and it was fantastic.

We started with the Oysters Rockfeller with half of a lobster cold, simply amazing followed with the signature Bobby Van's porterhouse. A perfect dinner for two, with a fantastic service by the only women at the restaurant.....we have been customers for 20 years, and still having an amazing dinner every time.

Had dinner here before going to the theatre. Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere, charming wait staff, but the food was awful. I am not a negative person. Had a drink and a chicken dish. The chicken was a flat piece of chicken (not even a chicken breast), and I couldn't eat it. My bill was $80.00+, just for atmosphere. A fast... More

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
