We arrived in NYC by bus, having missed lunch. Da Gennaro stood in front of us and our son, who picks out all our eating destinations said it looked good. The food was very good. The only mystery was what happened to the gorgonzola in my sauce! Gorgonzola is usually easy to taste, but I found mo trace of it... More

This was the third time we have been here and they never disappoint.. We love to sit on the patio and have lunch, the grilled chicken with peppers sandwich is excellent.

We made a reservation here for a Tuesday night and when we arrived the gentleman on the sidewalk immediately greeted us by name and had the perfect table outside reserved for us! The food was good (with tons of options to choose from), the service (by support staff as well as our server) was excellent, and the atmosphere was awesome!... More

Fantastic atmosphere with great food and beer. We spent a few hours enjoying the beer and the chat of Aki who was a fantastic host. Highly recommend.

Lunch in little italy. Stopped at Da Gennaro because the terrasse looked good. Had liguini carbonara, gnocci, pizza napoletane and tortellini rosé. All very good. Wait staff looked a bit confused and inexperienced but was really friendly. Excellent food

Since this is an uncommon occurrence in Scotland, it was nice to sit on a quiet New York Street (yes Mulberry Street was quiet) and enjoy dinner and some of the nice wines on offer. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, and prepared to offer opinions and guidance on the menu. Not the cheapest Italian we have eaten in,... More

This restaurant is an absolute must when in New York. First, the staff is fun! The owner was out front asking people to come and eat. Many of the restaurants in the area do this but he was wonderful, joyful and inviting. If became so competitive when the restaurant across the street started putting up umbrellas and then our restaurant... More

Da Gennaro was recommended to us by a friend in the hospitality industry. The restaurant is on Mulberry St. in Manhattan's Little Italy. We were seated fast, and thought they were busy, our order was taken and our appetizer (Funghi Ripieni) came out quickly. My order of Fettucini Maremonte was great, and included some amazingly fresh tasting shrimp and salmon.... More

Hungry and hot, we chose this place for lunch to sit because we wanted to sit in AC. They have al fresco seating which would be nice if it wasn't so hot. We ordered sausage pizza, calamari, chicken parmigiana and a special salad to split. The salad was decent size with grilled chicken. Pizza was very good, thin crust. The... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
