For some reason, I have been to this place multiple times. Surprised to see it has four stars... Coming at night for drink has been fun, but coming for work lunches was not. The food is not great which is frustrating with so many other...great options in the area, the restaurant is frequently empty, and the service was slow.More

4 of us came in for dinner and took us back to when we were in New Orleans. The flavors, service and atmosphere all top notch. Would highly recommend the jambalya.

I stop here before going to see a play. Always have a burger which is delicious. They are juicy., tasty and love the toppings they put on them. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Worth the trip. I’m sure you will enjoy whatever you decide to...eat.More

My wife wanted to eat some creole or Cajun food so we chose the restaurant at it was close to our hotel. It was practically empty when we arrived and the greeter wanted to seat us at an awful table (one couple who had booked...actually left when shown their table). So we asked for and were given a different table. Order some cocktails and I had the jambalaya creole style and my wife had the mac and cheese with crayfish. Service was excellent and the food was fine but nothing special. The place had no atmosphere and remained pretty empty until we left.More

We went here after a matinee and sat outside on the patio beside the sidewalk, a nice spot for watching the passing pedestrians. The hot artichoke dip was very greasy. Our drinks were OK, but the prosecco would have tasted better if it was served...colder.More

We go to NYC about once a year to visit family and this restaurant is one of our favorites. Have always had excellent food and service. This year I had the stuffed shrimp and it was amazing! Love their hush puppies. Others had blackened salmon...and jambalaya. Had the shrimp for an appetizer. Good choice of beers and enjoy their hurricanes and swamp juice. This place never disappoints!More

We popped in for a drink after a matinee show. It was busy, but not overcrowded. The bar staff were attentive and friendly. We were not pressured in to looking at menu's. Felt very comfortable there!

We sat on the balcony on the second floor and had a delightful view. Food was good. Felt like we were in New Orleans! Made a 5:15pm booking for 7pm show at the Gershwin Theatre. We were fine with time.

We ate at Bourbon Street before the theater, as its location made it convenient. The restaurant was very noisy and fairly warm. Our first disappointment came when the waiter told us that both the jambalaya and the gumbo were “very” spicy. He implied that both...dishes would be too spicy for us. Too bad because we had chosen the restaurant for the opportunity to have either one of those options. One of us had the uninspired chili; the other ordered a shrimp po’ boy. It was po’ all right—a poor imitation of an authentic NOLA po’ boy. The bun was nicely toasted, and the little shrimp were well seasoned, but the requisite remoulade sauce had been replaced with mayonnaise. Vanilla ice cream for dessert was ordinary; it arrived with a thin drizzle of caramel sauce—not enough to save the dessert from being less exciting than one would expect at a restaurant. Two scoops of B & J’s or Breyer’s would have tasted better. The service was serviceable. Not great, not terrible. One more thing: Downstairs you’ll find a Men/Women/Handicapped restroom, and one for men. Funny—most places need more women’s rooms, not men’s. In short, with all the good options for before-theater dining in New York City, I’d drink my bourbon somewhere else.More
