A NYC resident friend took us to this iconic club because she knew that it would be closing this Fall (2016). It is a slightly hidden gem, a glimpse of the high society past. Charming place, treated well by the friendly staff. Pricey drinks.

I had been researching for months the best bars to visit in NYC. We arrived and first had a very hard time finding the entrance. The initial bar looks like it was just an after thought with high top tables. Very loud and what I couldn't believe was how hot it was. So bad, that we left that table and... More

Read in NY Post that the bar is closing on July 28. Always wanted to visit - so today I did. Bar is very small - but cozy.. Already had lunch - so I stopped by for an after lunch drink Good service - very quiet. A few other people stopped by when I was there. No problem - worth... More

This bar is in a stunning setting, hidden away in Grand Central Terminal. The Drink are great but the prices are high (even for New York).

So glad we found this place. Fantastic setting, good atmosphere and friendly service. I really liked the fact there was a strict dress code as this added to the feel of the place. The decor feels like it would have done in the 18th century, not when the original office was developed but for the period it was decorated to... More

We saw a mention of this bar in a newspaper review of a traveller in New York and decided to find it...without being given a name!! It was worth it; cool ambience, superbly restored and with the most professional bar staff we have ever met...as others have said..expensive..We planned to have one drink but ended up having two, him a... On my third time of trying I finally found the Campbell Apartments. Decor wise, this cocktail bar does not disappoint. The low lighting, dark painted wooden panels and sandstone fireplace creates a great atmosphere to enjoy your cocktail in the centre of Manhattan. Unfortunately, due to the amount of people sitting at the bar, the time to get served a... More

What a find!! We asked one of the station staff where we could get a drink and he suggested here. It was very crowded, but it was 5pm on a Saturday. They found us a little table and we enjoyed a couple of rounds of cocktails. I recommend the Robber Baron cocktail! Delish! The architecture is not so impressive if... More

We visited for drinks and loved the ambience and character of the bar. Beautifully decorated/restored and the perfect place to feel like you've stepped back in time to a little prohibition bar. The drinks were reasonably expensive but good. The bar staff were not particularly charming, giving only the briefest of acknowledgements to us and one seemed to feel that... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
