Taiyaki NYC is a warm, traditional environment that captures the Japanese roots where the dessert, Taiyaki originated. Taiyaki is a fish-shaped waffle that is traditionally filled with red bean paste or custard. We serve Traditional Taiyaki and Taiyaki Cones baked with red bean or custard. Taiyaki Cones are then filled different flavors of soft serve ice cream: vanilla, chocolate, matcha (green tea), hojicha (roasted green tea), mango, strawberry, and a plethora of toppings. Since inception, Taiyaki NYC has innovated with creative Japanese-inspired desserts including Croyaki (croissant and taiyaki hybrid), Unicorn Floaties, Unicorn Taiyaki, and Jiggly Souffle Pancakes.

I will say that I was weary of falling into an Instagram treat trap in which the food was tasteless but, pretty. However, it was a delicious ice cream from start to end. We had the matcha green tea swirl and it was amazing. It...was creamy and the fish made a tasteful ice cream into an experience. The red bean paste at the end of the fish cone is what will make this spot a must-go for future NYC trips.
P.S If the ice cream were not that good, the location would have prevaled on my memory of it. It is a very small spot, with no seating space and surrounded by trash. So, if your experience will be affected by that, I recommend being mindful that you will have to walk a block or two for a beautiful sight.More
The store is too small, too crowded and not very clean.
The Ice cream is nothing-to-write-home-about - plain and simple, and the toppings are standard, and most important - too pricey!
The only exception is the cone which is fresh, tasty and made on the...spot.
Overall - doesn't worth the traveling.More
Visited this place after having read about the soufflé pancakes and was pleasantly surprised when they looked just as good in person. At an amazing $8 this was a great breakfast and they tasted great to. Only downside is nowhere to sit - place is...very small so be prepared to take out and eat on the goMore
