As someone lived in Beijing and half Chinese, I was expecting something pretty good in a street food style. Def catered for those who want something pre or post drinking. Dumplings were below average VERY thick skins and the texture of the veggie ones were...def no very Chinese. Also didn't see any vinegar for those who are accustomed to that. I wouldn't go back unless I was in urgent need of a stomach filler.More

Loved this place in the East Village! Well worth a visit for a quick bite, especially if you’re having a few drinks in the area. I had soup dumplings and my friend had fried veggie gyoza - both perfect. Only thing missing was white wine...on the menu, but they had red, so I could live with it.More

Was looking just for soup dumplings and this place was great! Menu is just dumplings, we got soup dumplings and vegetable dumplings. Best part is you get to watch the ladies making them through the glass so it was awesome for my son to watch....It’s very small inside with just some counter seats. Recommend if you are looking to grab some dumplings on the go!!More

The Dumpling Man has reinvented the dumpling! The dumpling wrappers are so tender and each of the different fillings are full of incredible flavor. My favorites are the vegetarian (with tofu & shiitake mushroom) and shrimp, but I also love the chicken and pork too....All of the three dipping sauces, are tasty. You can choose between having them steamed or seared. While waiting for your order, it is fun to watch the cooks preparing the dumplings from behind the glass.More

By NYC standards Dumpling Man has been around forever. They have a great menu with many options, seasonal offerings and several ways to customize via extra sauces / toppings. There's only bar seating and not much of it so not great for groups or fancy...dates but it's a great place to stop in with a friend or two. Also worth noting they have a see-through partition behind the counter and you can watch the staff prep the dumplings. Pretty cool! Disappointing they now have a minimum order of six per dumpling, so you can't mix and match like you used to be able to but still a great, inexpensive option if you're in the East Village / St. Marks area.More

The was our audible snack stop between McSorley’s & PDT - THE perfect pit stop to balance out the beer sloshing around inside. Handmade Pork dumpling 🥟 was the Bomb

Do not be scared by the shabby ex- and interior. The dumplings are freshly prepared and delicious. Simple, tasty and not expensive. (About 10$ a person for dumplings and a beer)

My son and I were walking around the East Village and decided to stop in at Dumpling Man to share an order of dumplings. Super affordable and fast. Great option if you are on a budget!
