If you are really into Jazz this is the place to be. My friend loved it as its her thing. Had a delicious calamari starter and pork for main and it was one of the best meals I had when in NY for the week.

Top notch musicians. Comfortable (although can be crowded) venue. Excellent service (a welcome relief to the laissez fare attitude at the Blue Note). Easily the best food available in an NYC Jazz Club. If you like real Jazz, this is the place for you!

There are some things that you just must do in New York - this has to be one of them. Smoke is a small intimate jazz Club somewhere near the top of Broadway that does Brunch sessions every sunday. We went to the 1pm session and enjoyed an amazing Jazz singer (Annette St John with her trio and featured sax... More

We made a reservation within 45 minutes of show time so we were pleased that turned out okay. They like you to get there 30 minutes before the show starts so out taxi driver got a good tip as he got us there almost on time. We were greeted and seated promptly and politely. We went for the Prix Fixe... More

Visiting NYC, we booked this in advance, on line - both the show and a table for dinner. Accommodates only about 50, so reservations probably needed, certainly for popular performers. We caught the Russell Malone Quartet, they were fabulous. Malone can play guitar, and the others (piano, bass, drums) were also good. The food at Smoke was better than the... More

I went to Smoke last Wednesday night to see Lea Delaria of Orange is the New Black fame perform for the midnight show. I had no expectations whatsoever for the food. In my experience most jazz clubs serve mediocre food. Boy was I surprised. I had the best fish tacos I have ever eaten and my husband had the most... More

My wife and I returned to Smoke last month for a Friday night dinner set with the band One for All. We hadn’t been there for a weekend show or dinner for quite a while and had forgotten how much fun it is. We met friends there about 30 minutes before the music for drinks. If you’ve never been, it... More

I had visited a number of websites and the Smoke Jazz Club was recommended as amongst the top ten to visit for great live music. The ambiance was good, the music great, however the restaurant was so overcrowded, you were practically sitting in your neighbor's lap. The waiters all seemed like they wished they were someplace else, service was slow,... More
