My partner wanted to hear some good live music in NYC and after some research we chose to come to Smoke. Great decision as the music was excellent with some dance as well on this evening and with restaurant week in NYC, the prix fix menu was great value. We were seated immediately in the intimate space which worked well... More

Small, intimate club on street level, not in a basement! Jazz was amazing, great acoustics. The food was also a big surprise - I am a foodie, and the lemon chicken entree was so incredibly delicious, served with baby carrots, spinach and mashed potatoes. And, here's the surprise, ORGANIC chicken!!! As a foodie, this is what I buy for myself,... More

The reviews were excellent and Smoke had high expectations to meet. They did not disappoint. Arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation and were seated promptly. Server greeted us quickly and gave us great info on choices and recommendations. And the music was excellent. Performers were hanging out with the audience. The people sitting around us were fun and engaging,... More

I wouldn't want dinner at at jazz club (I don't want to be eating when I'm listening), so we went to the 10:30 show, which doesn't require a meal. The price, however, was $40 per person music charge, plus a $20 minimum. That means it was $120 for two people for a 1 hour set. That's a bit high. That... More

The players, each renowned in his own right, were assembled to perform a birthday tribute to Mulgrew Miller. They played flawlessly and with verve. The club's seating is intimate, with no one seated more than a few yards from the band, and those closest could almost reach out and touch the players. Yet the sound was rich and full without... Small, quaint, and great service. Staff was very friendly. Food was actually good - large portions! The Jazz band that played (Heads of State) was excellent. But it was restaurant week so the menu was fixed price. No problem there because I am used to that and the selections were actually good. However, there was an EXTRA $45 entertainment charge... I have been at this club a few times over the years jazz and is about time I gave it review. The quality of the players and band it never disappoints, it has gotten better and better over the years. Food, as in all jazz clubs nothing to cry home about, as in most jazz clubs. Make sure you ask... More

came for Miles Davis review, which was good and the players talented, but the show was short and I think the cover price was sufficient for a bit more play.
