A local bistro / brasserie type place in mid town, I have eaten here for years and never had a bad meal; but I have never blow me away here either. Whether it is a late night snack, an easy dinner with family or friends or a business dinner, there is something for everyone here (steak, chicken, seafood, good wines,... More

Rest assured the new whitewash on the walls never reached the kitchen. The new artichoke plate for the mix and match starters is a welcome addition. The pig trotters with tarter sauce remain at the top of their game. My partner had the steak tartare and I went with duck and beetroot. The beetroots were not only succulent and sweet... More

This was one of the worst restaurants we have ever been to..We have traveled many places in France and gone to many French Restaurants in the states. In fact we sometimes ate at Le Cote Basque. From start to finish this was a bad experience. We both ordered the Cousselet. There was so much fat you could not find the... More

I had a very pleasant dinner with a few assorted starters and a divine filet mignon, but the highlight was surely the chocolate soufflė which was out of this world. Perfect.

We travel to NYV frequently for business and pleasure. We ALWAYS dine at Benoit while there. Authentic French food and atmosphere.

Alain Ducasse, the noted French chef, has finally created a successful restaurant in NYC. Menuwise it is an imitation of his Parisian restaurant of the same name and the quality of food is similar. If you are interested in a reasonable French restaurant, this is the place for you.

Excellent service, diverse menu, terrific food, excellent wine list to include by-the-glass. Hostess and entire staff most helpful and courteous. Charcuterie first class. Only negative is that much of the seating is the crowded banquette variety, much too close to other diners. Otherwise, superb, and am looking forward to my next time there. Added bonus: the waiter did NOT say... More

On a rainy night in NYC, Benoit was the perfect place for a cozy dinner. We wanted classic French fare and that is what we got. Perfect Steak Au Poivre and haricots verts, excellent red wine by the glass and the atmosphere is perfectly New Yorky. (The lights could be a little lower, if you ask me) Other than that... More

From the French host, to the bistro decor, to the menu, you really feel like you walked from a NYC street right into a Parisian Bistro. We happened upon this restaurant with the help of open table. We were looking for a restaurant close to the Warwick Hotel where we were staying. We had a relatively early reservation so the... More

Benoit, which took the place of Cote Basque several years ago, serves excellent food in the same beautiful setting. My wife and I travel to NYC twice each year, and we make Benoit our kind of special night each visit. My wife and I both started with the escargots, which were perfect. For her main course, my wife had the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
