I made a reservation though open table for my daughter's birthday 2 weeks ago. We live 1 1/2 hour from restaurant. We walked in and where told that our reservation was canceled because they had a private party going on. What the heck! Thank God...we were in NYC and there are thousands of restaurants to go to. Shame on you Revel. Bad costumer service.More

My husband and I ate here after reading reviews on OpenTable. The only time we could get was 6:30pm which is like lunchtime in Manhattan but nevertheless we took that reservation time and went anyway. Literally we were the only people in there, which was...strange in itself. The menu was just ok and the food was mediocre. The service was good people very nice I just wouldn't recommend it for dinner. Looks like the bar had a good crowd maybe a good place for drinks.More

Need somewhere to take 12 bros during a bachelor party that has unlimited drink options? Here is your spot. Service was fast, staff was nice, house DJ was crushing it, and they were not shy about refilling drinks. The outdoor patio is really nice so...make sure you sit outside. Only caveat is that the DJ doesn't start until 1pm, so don't arrive before that if you want to enjoy the music.More

Quick pleasant service, delish chicken sandwich and awesome french fries! Would love to come back next time I visit the city!

We stayed at The Ganservoort Hotel for 4 nights & Revel became our local for evening drinks... mainly because they do London Pride on tap (v happy husband!) Great place to relax after a day exploring NYC. The owner & his staff are super friendly....It has a cool industrial feel in the bar while the restaurant at the rear can be open air in the summer & had a really cosy feel thanks to the flowering tree creating a colourful canopy over the tables. We had steaks there one night which were fabulous. Overall an utterly authentic experience, no complaints at all.More

Being a NY 'r you like to go out and enjoy a nice night with another couple. A friend looked online and thought to meet up at the restaurant. What a mistake! The place has no redeeming qualities. Walking up to the place a young...girl tells us it's the wrong door and to walk to the next door to go in. When we walk in there is no hostess and we just stand there until we decide to walk in. We tell some employee that we have a reservation and they reply to sit "wherever". The first thing you notice is the thumping of the bass from next door. Hardly an enjoyable experience to talk to friends. The staff is clueless. When they finally come over to take the order for drinks we are told that the drink menu is not good and they don't have most of the drinks on the list. The white wine was warm and didn't even think to offer a glass for the beer. They bring over some stale bread - almost as an afterthought that hey would should put out bread. It's served with frozen butter packets and grape jam packets like you would get in a diner. When we ordered the appetizers it was ridiculous. The cantaloupe with prosciutto - was 3 pieces of melon with some prosciutto thrown on top. It looked like something my 5th grade son would have made. The tuna and salmon guacamole was also lacking. We ordered dinner and it was ok - a 3 out of 10. The steak with potatoes had little flavor and the potatoes were fried potato chips. The salmon had some wacky mustard sauce that almost ruined it. The chicken sandwich was nothing spectacular. The seafood pasta was probably the best of the entrees. We had ordered another drink when the meal was served and after serving us our food - the waitress and servers disappeared- literally disappeared. After about 15 minutes someone came and clears the table. Finally we called over a different server and asked for the check. Then out of no where they brought over the drink - a warm glass of white wine. We paid the bill and ran out of there. I highly recommend with all the choices to eat in the area don't make the mistake of coming here.More

I have been here some years ago and really liked the place. I remembered it being packed and having good food and drinks. None of that was still true. The restaurant was empty on a monday evening, but, since i enjoyed it so much last...time, i wanted to give it a chance. The waiters were very friendly but the food was below average. I ordered the tagliata di manzo, which turned out to be just slices of steak with fries. That's not what i expected: i hoped for some nice meat over arugola salad with parmigiano and balsamic oil, as it should be. My wife had the pulled pork: dry tasteless meat on soggy buns without a bunch of salty fries. There was no little cole slaw or other kind of salad. Really disappointing. We had a glass of chianti, which was a nice enough wine if it weren't for the fact that it had been very hot the whole day outside and the wine was way above room temperature. To be honest, this is a place to avoid. The food was not extremely bad but overpriced for what you get and very inspirationless. There are better places for a steak.More

We took a very long time, with a lot of walking and a lot of GPS searching to get to this restaurant because we heard it was good. The food was okay. The waitress we had was not friendly and between 4 people we ordered...two $35 Pitchers of their house drink and not one of us could taste the liquor or feel a buzz. We asked the waitress and she said it had a lot of liquor in it. She lied. We would NOT go back.More

Revel has some great things going for it, location and its space. It's a nice respite from all of the activity outside. I can't say that I loved my burger, I don't think the onion was pickled so much as wilted. This is the first...time that an automatic 20% gratuity has been added to the bill - regardless of the quality of service...More
