It was raining, so we chose to have dinner in the hotel. Had to ask for the mixed nuts that were on every ones table. Drinks were about $20.for a small drink. I had a martini and it was served in a small glass. Food was small portions and very bland in taste. We are in New York every month... More

We had some time to kill before our dinner reservation, so we stopped at the bar for a drink. The bar staff was friendly, the menu was varied, and the bar seats were comfortable. It was a great place for a pre-dinner drink, but I'm not necessarily going to rush back.

Stopped in for a snack and drink before checking in. Very nice airy feel and Central Park across the street. Steve the bartender was excellent. Nice bar menu. Had the wings and as good as I've ever had. Worth the stop.

We had 17 people from out of town for a celebratory meal: A birthday (96), a return to the Essex House after a 71-year absence, and a Carnegie Hall debut. The staff of the Southgate were superb: They loved the celebration (especially the return after a 71-year absence --- my mother and father celebrated their marriage there in February 1945... More

WOW ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! I just hosted my daughters Bridal Shower for 30 guests. It was over the top fabulous. I first met with Mariel and Tyler from The JW to review my options. They treated me "Like A Royal" as if I was hosting an event for 500 guests. Everything was so detailed. The ambiance is wonderful with a lounge... More

We had a couple of drinks at this bar on our way back to our own hotel but didn't find there to be much atmosphere. It is in a great location opposite the park but you most certainly pay the premium and we expected more from the cocktails considering.

We were shocked by our bar bill and our breakfast bill the next morning. For basic buffet for 4 people it was 250 with no alcohol involved. We live in the tri-state so we are accustomed to high prices, but even we were surprised. The food was fine, staff was indifferent. Love the hotel where is is located.

Great view of Central Park and only one idiot on his phone next to me at the bar...the entire time. UGH! The bar snacks are seriously addictive. I was worried I might be asked to leave, only kidding. Enjoyed a cold Corona and checked out the incredible wine list. Next time I return, it will be wine for me. Excellent... More

I had a business dinner there a while back and even though the restaurant was very crowded and noisy as I walked to my table, to and from the bathroom, when I was sitting with my guest it felt very private. Not sure what the acoustic situation is but we talked for hours while enjoying a really good meal. The... More

We were staying at the Ritz Carlton up the street and decided to pop in for a bite and a drink here. Wish we hadn't. Staff were very rude and unhelpful and we felt they were looking down there noses at us. Had money to spend but once in there and having encountered the rude staff decided not to so... More

Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
