they set the bar high, quality wine selection. I had the grilled salmon with aspargus and gingered rice, it was terrific. The bill was expensive but you know it when you enter the place. you can bring your wine, they even have wine lockers available to keep it there. No doubt I will return there

I pass by this restaurant on 42nd Street and it is always packed. I finally had a chance to dine with friends over the holidays and it was not such a good experience. We ordered steaks and lobsters around the table and they were not worth the money and the wait. The place was so noisy, it was hard to... More

Visited on Christmas Eve which may account for the subpar experience.... we were seated promptly and were moved when we didn't care for the first seating provided which was fortuitous as we were now in Tony from Albania's section. Tony was magnificent- great service, excellent personable service attitude and humorous throughout the evening.... Now to the food. Both steaks were... More

On a holiday trip to New York, we celebrated our anniversary at The Capital Grille. We dined there once before and were highly impressed by how good the food was, coupled with excellent service. I know it's not usual to re-review a place here on TripAdvisor, but I hope that either I forgot to review The Capital Grille after our... More

Made a reservation online and was given a private room for 5 on the second floor. Wonderful service and food. The private room allowed my family to exchange gifts and enjoy our holiday get together undisturbed.

The food was delicious and the waitress great! Portions were large, too. This place is right in front of Grand Central so it gets pretty busy in the morning but worth the wait! Prices are steep by Southern standards but pretty typical for Manhattan.

Large steakhouse with standard menu - good steaks and reasonable wine selection. Table not ready on arrival so waited in a cramped bar area. Took ages for drinks to arrive. Fast and efficient service but a sense of being processed as just another customer. Expensive for an average experience. Wouldn't rush back

Can't add much more about the food that others have already written, but wanted to comment that the food is consistently excellent and the service is always there to please. We were actually seated at a very private table at first, but we wanted something more in the middle. They were very accommodating and they didn't think anything of it.... More

This restaurant is fairly stylish - big, high glass walls - but also very buzzing and full of life. The food was wonderful. I had a simple starter of mozzarella and tomato which was great. The main course was outstanding - beef filled and lobster tails (their version of surf and turf I guess), with asparagus and dauphinois potatoes. Gosh... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
