I live in the neighborhood and have been there over a dozen times. This place is consistently excellent. Every dish, price, atmosphere, lunch, brunch, dinner are all excellent. The greek wines are terrific. The manager/host/owner is extraordinary. The only thing I hate about writing this...review is helping them becoming more popular and ultimately harder to just walk in without a reservation. But, it is worth writing a rave about them to help keep them in business in a tough and competitive restaurant neighborhood. Kudos to this place! great view of the bridge. Ride the tram over to Roosevelt Island and go to this place for lunch afterwards. A modern day classic 59th st. Midtown East, Sutton Place adventure!More

We had a wonderful time and the staff made us feel like family. Order every appetizer and sample everything! Drink the house wine and laugh! Gluten free? No problem. Vegetarian? No problem. Everyone felt special. No request too big. The desert? Honey cake? A gift.

The food is really great, service is excellent, and the atmosphere is bright and lovely. I have been here on several occasions and always leave feeling full and satisfied. Some of my favorite items on the menu are the Spreads, Salmon, Grilled Octopus, and Greek...Salad. My husband always orders the Papoutsakia and really enjoys it! The wait for a table is never too long, but I recommend calling ahead for a reservation on weekends.More

We returned here for the 2nd time and about 18 months since our first visit. We were remembered, I think, because I had asked for the manager the first time and had said so many good things. Usually, people only call the manager to complain!...I haa Paidakia, which are lamb chops with lemon potatoes. My other half had a chicken kebab. My lamb chops were cooked as ordered, medium rare, maybe a little less, which is actually preferred, and were so juicy and just melted in my mouth. We were given some bread with olive oil to start and later some complimentary pita slices. I had water and then a glass of Greek Cabernet Blend with my meal. My other half had 2 glasses of sauvignon blanc. We had skipped on soups and/or appetizers to save room for dessert so we split an order of Baklava. The manager also sent over another small dessert which was a cake-like item with some sauce. Everything was delicious to me although my other half said his chicken was slightly dry. I can now say that I've had my 2 best meals ever in Manhattan at Under the Bridge. I hope we are able to return in less than 18 months. It's in our favorite part of Manhattan-hotel-wise so we should make it back. Be sure to make a reservation because it does fill up early and isn't that big. Eirini, per the receipt, was our main server, but everyone pitched in, and, of course, being remembered by the manager/owner made it even more special!More

We had a terrible meal here on Labor Day. The food wasn't too good, nor was the service. What was really galling, however, was that when we asked for bread we were told they ran out but they had pita. We said fine & when...we got the check they had charged us $1.50. Not a lot of money at all, but we would never have ordered pita if the waiter hadn't said "we're out of bread but have pita." They took it off our check, but certainly it could be categorized a poor customer relations. We won't be back.More

Tiny restaurant at the base of the 59th St bridge. Been there a number of times and never disappointed. Owners and wait staff friendly and attentive. My wife and i shared grilled octopus for an appetizer. Extremely tender, well spiced and Delicious. I’ve sampled this...dish in restaurants in NYC, Boston and top end restaurants and this surpasses any we’ve had before. My wife had roast chicken..tender, juicy and spicing was perfect. I went traditional and had mousaka. It was very unique sumptuousMore

Stopped in for a quick lunch and wine with a friend. The food was excellent but the menu was very limited and the staff was not very attentive. The white wine was not very cold, but they did put it on ice once we requested.

Great addition to the area! I had dinner there many times since it has opened and recommend it. There is a good variety of Greek food, everything I tried very tasty. Service was excellent.

Enjoyed the wine, beer and wonderful selection of seafood and fresh bread and olive oil. Good service as well. Liz had the swordfish while I had the seafood pasta. Great ambiance as well.

A popular place so reserve if you want to be sure of a table. Service is efficient to brisk, but once you have your food, they don’t rush you. We enjoyed the tomato, feta and green pepper salad, halloumi cheese appetizer, and the shrimps done...in tomato sauce plus lots of good toothsome bread. And since we exclaimed over and devoured the strips of honey cake, our exuberant waitress brought us another round! A favorite dining spot for us just under the Queensboro Bridge.More
