The last time I ate here I didn't feel very well after doing so. Small portions and a high price for food that is barely edible. Don't know how they stay in business. Dirty surroundings also!

I travel from El Paso to Ruidoso every weekend and I truly love breakfast. I’ve had a fever… and the only cure has been huevos rancheros. I’ve eaten from a few restaurants throughout El Paso and in Ruidoso and I have had my variations to...include hash browns, rice and sometimes a salad or lettuce dressing/aray. I generally order over easy eggs with corn tortillas if given the option. I have since started adding Carlsbad to my weekend travels and while in town, am now starting to explore the city and found Junior's Restaurant to be open. In fact, the open at 4 am in the morning, which is understandable considering the get ‘heavy’ traffic from the highway going in and out of town just east of the Pecos River. I order my ‘usual’ and was pleased with the plate that I got two eggs fried over easy with plenty of yoke atop corn tortillas, rice and beans and a salad garnish which was extremely delicious in my opinion. As I had lunch, it was very easy to see and even upon entering the restaurant for seating, it appeared to be a full lobby; standing room only. This make up most the ‘to go’ crowd ordering burritos to go. And Wow! What a selection or variety of burritos the offered. I saw picadillo, relleno, egg and sausage, lengua, egg and bacon and several others. It was easy to see that they were doing good business and I ordered a relleno and egg and sausage to go for family waiting back when I checked out all to the tune of just under twenty/20 USD. I would definitely go back to Junior's Restaurant for a sitdown meal or if I needed a couple of good burritos to go; they got you covered.More
At $10+ a plate and small, poorly flavored portions, this might be consider “cheap” if it was buried in a tourist attraction and you had to eat there. French fries that came with the Mexican hamburger were cold, enchiladas were tiny ($6 for one on...the kids menu that wasn’t enough for my 4 year old!), and my husband, who usually enjoys Mexican food, found his plate bland and unsatisfying. It was drastically overpriced for the food we got. The restaurant reminded me of a gas station; it was very warm and loud because of the many fans they had blowing. The waitress was quick and cheerful at least.More
Love the friendly atmosphere and good food!! Thank you for everything. Always welcoming and very friendly.
Average Mexican food. Quick service, cheap prices, but nothing special. Tamales were homemade and pretty good.
Decided to get take out, family wanted Mexican we were pleased to select Juniors, we ordered there to go. Everything we got was good, I especially liked the chili relleno portion of my plate which also had an enchilada and a super big burrito, I...could not finish the plate. The steak tacos were very good. The service was very good and efficient. The place seemed to be clean but a little cluttered. It is off the main street but worth looking for it.More
My friends and I go here almost every morning for breakfast burritos. The staff is always happy and smiling. Their food is good and fast. Great place.
Mostly Hispanic people in the place as we ate. My husband had a Chili Relleno Plate and he wasn’t too impressed by them. I had a combo plate that had a Burrito on it and that was by far the best deal, although the meat...was very salty. The cheese enchilada was very forgettable. The chips and salsa were very tasty. Spicy salsa- yum!More
My burrito must have had a pound of meat in it. Everything was really yummy, service friendly too. We were the only people eating in and it seemed that most people came in for take out.
Read the GREAT REVIEWS and headed there for dinner. We ordered the Taco Salad & Beef Enchiladas. Huge Portions! Both meals were excellent. They also present Chips & Salsa. Chips were fresh & crisp. Cost was about $10.00/meal. Total for two people with drinks +...tax, $25.00. If you are looking for real Mexican dishes prepared & served by Hispanic staff, this is the place.More
We weren't sure at first about eating here after seeing the exterior, but we are so glad we looked past that. The restaurant appears to be family-owned and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. Our carne asada burrito meals were great as was the...salsa. Definitely worth a return visit!More
Spent the week in Carlsbad last week, and ate at Junior’s three times. It’s good, authentic food at a very fair price. I had the green chili pork twice, and enjoyed it both times. I knew it was authentic because it was wildly different in...spice level on the two nights. The first night it had a kick, but not too spicy. The second night it was fiery. I mentioned it to the waitress, who said “yeah, it’s spicier tonight.” Got to love real food.More
Very good Mexican - not Tex Mex. The service was good and the place was full. Clean and well kept. Be careful walking in - the parking lot has unexpected level changes
We were going home after vacationing in the area and we wanted to stop for breakfast. We took a chance and decided to stop and order a few breakfast tacos to go. (Or breakfast burritos as they call them here.) They were absolutely delicious! We...were not disappointed. And the little guy who took our order was just absolutely adorable, very friendly and welcoming. I wanted to bring him back to Texas with us. Lol If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely stop here again.More
Juniors was great and easily one of our favorite restaurants that we ate at during our visit. The food was delicious and tastes like good home cooked New Mexican food. Visit if you get a chance!
