After a long day of 4 wheel driving around Cathedral Valley, we decided to eat dinner here based on the recommendation from Aubrey who is an on-site employee at Thousand Lakes RV Park. Although quite pricey, this was one of the better meals we have had on our road trip.don’t let price deter you as the entire area is expensive so you might as well get quality for what you’re paying. You won’t be disappointed.

We were staying at the Thousand Lakes RV Park and all day you could smell the BBQ. We ate here twice and both times it was amazing and the service was great. The chef definitely takes pride in his technique and wants his customers to be completely satisfied. That’s why we went back the second time. Highly recommend even if you are not camping at the site.

Torrey Grill is a hidden gem! The owner works so hard to provide quality food and he skuas succeeded!!! We ordered 2 combos with tri-tip and ribs, the sides were corn (amazing!!!), poblano beans and cheddar mashed potatoes. With each combo we also got a small appetizer that was top notch! My kids loved the cornbread and ate it up so I never had any. Good BBQ is pricey but worth it and the prices are comparable to any other BBQ I’ve had. You will get quality food for the price. I would highly recommend…

Paid a bit much for a ribeye that was ordered medium well, to finally receive a steak that was medium rare at best. I tried it (once I had to return to the window two separate times to ask for silverware and the drink I had ordered) but it was rough. Wanted to ask them to rectify but the limited staff was so busy helping other customers with errors on their order, I just gave up and tossed it.

Nothing else even comes close to the two terribly disappointing to-go meals we had from Torrey Grill & BBQ. My companion's "chicken salad" ($19) was a cardboard-like chunk of chicken atop a mound of greens seemingly straight from a bag. My pork ribs ($20) were dry as sandpaper and tough too. Sides, including beans, were no better. Most of this food ended up not in our stomachs but in the trash. How this place could receive so many favorable reviews on this site was a total mystery to us.

Torrey Grill and BBQ is a hidden gem in the red rocks of Torrey, UT! There is something tasty and pleasing for every palate, from beef tips to grilled salmon. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing with blues and jazz music to complement the expertly created dishes. Peter, the owner and chef, personally visits each table to ensure that everyone is satisfied and walking out happy! Best BBQ in the west!

My husband and I enjoyed eating at the Torrey Grill many times over 7 months. Our favorites were the smoked, tender and tasty ribs, tri tip, and perfectly seasoned salmon. It’s obvious that Chef Peter takes pride in his craft and into assuring he prepares delicious meals for his customers. The seating area is a casual and cozy pavilion style with a lit fire in the cool temps and enjoyable dining music. Thank you, Chef Peter and your staff, Torrey Grill will always be our “go to” when visiting Capital Reef. Bruce, Annette, and Skipper

While camping in the area, locals and visitors highly recommended Torrey Grill & BBQ. They are located in the Thousand Lakes RV Park. Hubby & I tried this place for dinner and it did not disappoint! We had beef tri tip, smoked chicken and ribeye steak that was fantastic! Chef Peter Cole puts a cool twist on his sides. We tried the poblano smoked beans, cream corn and mashed potatoes. Never had these sides prepared the way he does, and they were delicious! Chef Peter came out to greet guests. After talking with him, the impression he left us with is his passion for cooking, in particular, his smoke meats, and seeing the joy his guests have while enjoying his creations. When you’re in the area, visit Torrey Grill & BBQ, and enjoy Chef Peter’s fabulous creations!

We stayed at the Thousands Lakes RV park and the extra treat is this great BBQ restaurant. We had the Rib Eye and the pork ribs that we’re prepared to perfection. Gourmet sides includes Cheddar mashed potatoes, corn bread, appetizer and cowboy caviar a refreshing mix of legumes, vinegar and secret seasonings. Recommend eating here even if you aren’t staying at the park

A great place to meet for dinner with friends. The ribs were tender, meaty and moist. with excellent seasoning. The salmon was perfectly grilled and moist. The homemade BBQ sauces and Teriyaki sauce were delicious. The cheese mashed potatoes made an excellent side. We enjoyed the nice casual atmosphere.

Ignore all the reviews that complain about this not being a sit down place or having fancy schmancy service and tableware. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FOOD. We had ribs and chicken and they were delicious. Sides were tasty. And hello - it's Utah - BYOB is the name of the game. Sitting outside hearing laughter and children playing while digging into food made with care was the best after being Covid-cooped up all winter with no restaurant visits. The people are friendly and dedicated to small town life. We had a great chat with John and thanked Chef Peter on our way out. Do not miss this wonderful place.

We saw this little smokehouse right in front of our campsite, and had to try it! It was amazing! Unfortunately, they were out of the salmon because of a delayed shipment, but we had the smoked chicken, sliced beef, tri-tips, and a ribeye steak among our two couples. They were amazing. Lots of great sides also. I would personally recommend the creamed corn and the cheesy potatoes. Also lots of great sauces to enhance the meats! We were too full at the end to enjoy what looks like awesome desserts also!

We stayed 4 nights at the Thousand Lakes RV park. The Torrey Grill and BBQ is directly behind the RV General Store. Not much for ambience, has picnic tables, firepit and dirt/rock floor. The first time we ate there, I had the BBQ sampler, brisket, pork ribs, and chicken, my husband had 1/2 of a chicken. Everything was very good, healthy portions, we brought back leftovers. Today we both enjoyed the Salmon, very good. We highly recommend that you make the time to stop and enjoy. 👍👍👍

This restaurant is located in an RV park on the edge of Torrey. We arrived just as they were opening and weren't even the first in line. You order and pay at a walk-up window. It is a small operation, two young ladies taking orders and setting them up, and one master cook in the back. We ordered our meal to go, but there is also casual seating inside. Our order consisted of a ribeye steak and bbq ribs with sides. ($57) The meal was delicious. I was concerned about the ribs as, I believe, they were advertised as dinosaur ribs and I was afraid they might be tough. Boy, was I wrong. They were so tender and flavorful. This is a must stop when in Torrey.

We were planning on Mexican for the night then we heard of Torrey BBQ. Just go here. The chef is a CIA grad that found his niche in Torrey Utah. So glad he did. Just good food. Baked beans are nummy. You can watch (peter the chef work his magic while you wait) organized system of staff and service. Good food worth the wait. About 20min with a constant line .sorry no photos. I just wanted to eat immediately.
