Amazing food, very affordable, amazing staff. Manager Julie is truly a joy to be around. Highly recommended and well worth the drive to Manteo!

To say that the food was terrible would be an understatement. Son’s chicken sandwich was dry and the fries were over cooked in old oil. Husband had the fried chicken dinner. It was swimming in gravy and the mashed potatoes were unrecognizable. I had the...Shrimp Alfredo. The shrimp was over cooked. The sauce consisted of cream poured over shredded cheese. No flavor. We all came home and spent the night on the sofa sick to our stomachs. I didn’t mention anything to the staff— waitress had the personality of a wet rag and couldn’t care less. The kitchen staff should be ashamed. They know the food is disgusting and serve it regardless. No pride in that place. Will never return.More

I never just give a place one shot. I go back several times and rate it on an average. I know times are tough with Covid, but... The service is pretty rough...they always seem way understaffed. And why oh why do servers think it's so...cool to no jot down the order on a pad of paper? By "remembering" the order, it gets messed up every, single time. I don't think it's too much to ask for the oyster stew to arrive before the main course, not after. The food is OK. Not great. Not terrible. Just OK. If I were a drinker, I'd love the bar. It's reminiscent of "Cheers" back in the day. We'll go back again because we live right around the corner. But, It'd be unlikely that I make a special trip or take out of town family and friends here during their visits.More

We decided to get takeout after trying surfing. We had two separate orders. Everyone’s meal was correct. I got the fried country chicken. It didn’t look appetizing but it was good.

Ordered takeout. Both women working the stand were somewhat rude. The flounder bites were overcooked, my son’s order was wrong and the lobster bisque was cold, as if it was barely heated up. Not sure what happened in the year since we were here, but...none of our meals were worth what we paid.More

The service was above par. The bartender introduced me to my new favorite drink. My entree was delicious and so ample that the leftovers served two of us the next day.

I was looking for a place to stop that was on our route to our final location (kitty hawk) and found Stripers and thought it might be a good spot. We had a bit of difficulty finding it (no wrong turns just wondering if we...were going the right way) until we realized that it was actually part of the condos or whatever that were back off the main road into Manteo (just off 64 so convenient). We were immediately seated inside (it was super hot but the a/c was working very well). Our server was attentive and brought me samples of a couple of different beers before I decided on a local "Kitty Hawk blonde". My husband and I shared some peel and eat shrimp and each had a salad--a good lunch. Sadly, not much boat activity as it was midday on a hot day, but we could see the water and the parked boats.More

Our recent visit to Striper's started off great. We were seated near the window with a beautiful view of the Sound. Tables were spread out well making us feel comfortable. My husband and I started off with the Lobster Bisque was was creamy and delicious....We were enjoying our fish tacos when our son noticed a giant cockroach crawling along the wall. We then saw two more crawling on the floor, which caused a loss of appetite.More

We didn't and just happened to luck out, but I would recommend getting a reservation at virtually any seafood restaurant you go to in OBX during the summer. Especially if you have a decent size party.
