Closed for the winter. See you May 2020. When we first opened Moby Dick’s in ‘83, we had no idea we’d become an establishment on Cape Cod. We simply wanted to start a BYOB restaurant that had fresh seafood, a relaxed environment, and a friendly staff that would make people feel at home. Well, three decades later, we’re still doing exactly that, opening every season in May to the delight of locals and visitors alike. Some people stop in for our lobster rolls while others come for an old-fashioned bucket of steamers. But everyone knows they can come to us for family fun and a dining experience in Wellfleet they'll never forget.

We passed this restaurant on our way to a visit to Provincetown. It looks almost run down. The parking lot is gravel. The building is weathered wood. We didn't think a lot about it, but on our way back from P-Town, we were looking for...something to eat as we happened upon it again.
There was a line outside and many cars in the parking lot so we thought it must be pretty good.
We are so glad we stopped!
You go inside and order at a counter and they bring the food to you. Of course it's a menu of fish and seafood.
We had the lobster bisque, which was delicious. I had a salad with grilled scallops. Also fantastic and hubby had a fried scallop roll, which he deemed great as well.
It's not cheap, but worth every penny!More
My wife and I chose this spot for a last night dinner for take out while vacationing in the area. Staff was very friendly upon entering and turn around times were short. Take out came packaged well and silverware and condiments were included.
We ordered...a chicken sandwich and salmon sandwich. Both tasted well and were prepared good. Overall, not a bad spot to check out and prices were reasonable.More
We just had to visit Moby Dick's tonight since they will be closing for the season on October 11 this year. We have eaten at Moby's ever since they opened and love this place. The food is amazing! We have always had a fantastic meal....Tonight we had fried shrimp (my all-time favorite) along with a fried oyster plate, lobster roll platter and the best ever steamed clams. The clams were so clean and fresh!! Dipping them into that great warm butter was the best!!! We are always pleased with the quality of Moby's food. We ate so much tonight, but know we will return before they close next week. Those steamed clams were the best ever!!! I know we will get them again...super fresh, super clean and the broth was perfect!!! Love you Moby's!!! Only wish they would stay open longer. We won't be able to wait until May to return! The owners are really special. They now feel like family! Their staff cannot be compared to--young adults that come from all over the world work at Moby's and that's what makes it super special!! We will be back for their new dessert made with caramel and pecans and more on a cookie...too stuffed to try it tonight, but it looked totally incredible!More
You definitly should stop here!!! We found a great outdoor table and it was busy but no reservations were needed for us at 2:30 on Sunday. We originally stopped here because we had a difficult time finding parking in Provincetown. I’m so glad we didn’t...eat where it’s crowded and touristy! We had the best meal at Moby Dick’s. We wanted a light meal since we had reservations for a big dinner later that evening. So, my husband and I both got salads-both excellent. Then, we decided on a whim to get the caramel, pecan ice cream Sunday!!! OMG!!! It’s not your typical caramel Sunday. It was the thickest caramel I have ever had with delicious candied pecans!!!
We observed all the other people dining, and have decided we will be going back tomorrow for seafood!!! Their choices looked amazing.More
We ate here twice when we in Truro. The food was good. The staff were very attentive and seemed to like they liked working there. The owner was very visible, talking to customers, clearing off tables, etc.
Food was absolutely delicious and portions were generous
