Kind of a strange place. Wait on line outside, place your order before sitting down, then have the food delivered to your table. This place apparently has been around forever, so I guess it works for them, but I found it odd. Food was just so-so. I expected more given the reputation, but the clam chowder had little flavor, fish... More

atima, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. It seems to me that we were not exactly what you were looking for. The next time you are this way I would recommend that you try our other restaurant in Wellfleet - Winslow's Tavern. It is in the center of Wellfleet (two minutes away from Moby Dick's). Winslow's... Every year we go to Welfleet in July and a highlight of our visit is always an early dinner at Moby Dick's on Route 6 just north of the Welfleet traffic light. I usually have the swordfish or scallops and my wife usually has the lobster roll. There is always a line (no reservations) but it always moves quickly because... More

Always great seafood, I'm partial to the Wellfleet Oysters and the lobster. Clam chowder is a favorite of my son. Someone loved the grilled shrimp & scallops. One can make one's own cocktail sauce, but can do without the pre-packaged (Ken's) cocktail sauce they serve. Sadly I did not see the Mignon sauce on the menu. The international staff is... More

Had a great lobster roll here - all lobster, no fillers! Great setting and a short wait to place my order.

We went to Moby Dick's for the first time mid week. I had heard great things and decided to give it a try. You order your food when you first walk in and then it is brought to your table. There is a wide variety of seafood, each prepared a little differently. I tried the steak and scallop kebabs which... More

My companion had delicious grilled striped bass but I opted for steak and scallops instead of my usual fried seafood platter. Disappointed. The scallops were small and lacked flavor, which I've read means frozen? First time I've ever been to Mobys and didn't enjoy the food. I'll be back only because I know they can do better. Oh and the... More

CSMS0927, Thank you for your recent comments on TA. I do not know why your scallops lacked flavor. They are local and delivered fresh daily....NEVER frozen! Also, I apologize for the over cooked corn on the cob. As always....when you are at Mobys...if something is not to your satisfaction please let us know right away and we will fix it... More

We had a really lovely lunch here en route to Provincetown. The service was quick, helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. There's no air con so beware on super hot days but they do have very heavy duty ceiling fans. You won't be disappointed with the portion sizes.

Moby Dick's is great. The kitchen staff is enormously talented in their ability to cook seafood to perfection - which is not easy. If it's overdone, it's terrible. The friendly, multicultural waitstaff is also amazing...constantly on the move tending to the guests' needs in what is a very, very busy restaurant. We were there on Saturday evening. I can't even... Our family has been going to Moby Dick's for over 20 years. Jack's table in the rear was our uncle Jack. It has been consistently good year after year. There are places that the fish is no longer firm and fresh, they have thick batter to get by with less fish, and everything taste like old cooking oil. It is... More

We like to explore new restaurants and areas, so were surprised that we both wanted to return to Moby Dick's. Not only that, but I found I ordered the same thing both times. The seafood skewers are simple-scallops, shrimp, swordfish mixed with veggies-but are fresh and cooked just right. This is a byo, which is a plus in my book.... More
