About
Closed for the winter. See you May 2020. When we first opened Moby Dick’s in ‘83, we had no idea we’d become an establishment on Cape Cod. We simply wanted to start a BYOB restaurant that had fresh seafood, a relaxed environment, and a friendly staff that would make people feel at home. Well, three decades later, we’re still doing exactly that, opening every season in May to the delight of locals and visitors alike. Some people stop in for our lobster rolls while others come for an old-fashioned bucket of steamers. But everyone knows they can come to us for family fun and a dining experience in Wellfleet they'll never forget.

If you enjoy seafood at a premium price, served on paper plates with plastic utensils while sitting on indoor picnic tables, this may be you spot. I don't !

Finally had my lobster bisque and 1 1/2 lb lobster. So good and so much meat on it. Had trouble cracking it open so the kitchen did it for me. While pricey it was worth it and the restaurant was great. Service was prompt and...friendly and it's right on the main road, easy peasy.More

We are a family of four with two teens and we’re on our way to Provincetown. I had heard about Moby dicks from our hotel in Hyannis. We decided to stop in on a whim because we were a little hungry so we decided to...share two platters. We didn’t want to have too big of a lunch as we were going to be eating at the lobster pot. The owner came by our table and asked how we were enjoying our lunch . Next thing you know he came by with a basket of fried oysters and basket of fried clams for us to try complementary. We were blown away by his generosity and kindness. We all found them delicious. He also pulled up a chair later asked us what we thought of the food and gave us some notes about places we should drive through for a more scenic route to Provincetown. We also met his wife who is also very friendly making sure guests were offered ice water if they like. We decided to hit up the gift shop next-door. My husband and son bought Moby Dick T-shirts And I purchased a bracelet which I love with sea glass for $10 The quality of the T-shirts were very good and washed well. There was a lineup when we were leaving so I take it this place gets quite busy. Highly recommend this restaurant for excellent customer service and food quality.More

Had dinner here with family in mid-September. The place came with a high recommendation, but didn't really live up to the hype. The food was good overall, but pretty pricey. I know everyone has their own take on lobster rolls but....lobster and a slice of...lettuce in a bun just doesn't do it for me. Call me weird, but I like a little mayo to hold the meat together and help slide things down. The "touristy" factor of Moby's was solidified by the checkerboard table cloths on picnic tables, and staff sporting nametags that indicate where in the world everyone was from. It just wasn't what I was looking for on this trip to the Cape.More

There is just much, much better seafood within walking distance, never mind in the area. The food was greasy and flavorless. The staff are all very nice and attentive! We've driven by this place for years. Now we know to continue doing it!

I had a scallop sandwich. I was amazed at how fresh and well prepared it was. I was expecting a lot worse from a touristy type of restaurant. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the bread had body, not soft and airy. The fries and iced...coffee were also very good. The employees were very friendly and helpful. It was also the least expensive and best meal I had during my stay in the cape.More

Went down there 3 times during the past 2 weeks. Food was, as always, terrific. Twice I had the sirloin tips and shrimp..it was absolutely fabulous!!! A lot of places do either beef well or seafood well, not both. Moby's does both to perfection! Couple...that with the baked potato and corn on the cob, and you have meal that can't be best anywhere! And the staff from around the world are wonderful to chat with. There were no bugs, as far as I could tellMore

What you get here is a meal relatively quickly and just fine. Great for an evening where everyone is hungry and lots of people in your party have different tastes. Someone can find something to eat here and it you won't be hungry after.
