The caprese salad was big enough to split and very good (although expensive). The bread plate was delicious. The pastas we had (baked gnocchi and carbonara) were both very good although a bit on the heavy side. Wine selections were good. Next time we would probably have a salad and split a pizza for a less filling and expensive meal!

Attended based on reviews. All I can say is the food was amazing. My wife and I Had the bread plate and guilia pizza and was probably the nicest pizza I have eaten (and I enjoy a good pizza). Service was a little slow but that was only because a waiter hurt himself having a fall and hitting his head. They were apologetic which was unnecessary as clearly he was hurt and they were constantly checking on him. Overall a great location, feel, vibe, staff and the food was just fantastic. Highly recommend. Nicest food to date on our US trip.

What a hidden gem.
Farm to table and home made fare.
Ordered the bread app with green garlic spread, fig butter and sweet roasted garlics.
OMG the fig butter was heaven, the bread was great.
Ordered the Camilla pizza with homemade sausage and spicy salami. the sausage was great and flavorful.
Service was great,
A must visit.

Went to this restaurant based on a recommendation. This pizzas were great but the pasta entree we selected came with only a few noodles and was the most expensive item we ordered. Overall I would say the food is over-priced for what you get and I wouldn't go back there. There are MANY great restaurants in this part of San Diego.

Terrible pizza and poor service. Would not recommend. There are so many great restaurants in San Diego, and this is not one of them.

It pretends to be an Italian restaurant, but no idea of what Italian food is. I ordered crostini with buffalo mozzarella. Mozzarella was covered by black pepper, crostini were swimming into olive oil. Impossible to feel the taste of the mozzarella. Then a lamb with polenta. The lamb was cooked well, but floating in a sea of fried oil and covered by garlic, too much garlic. Impossible to feel any taste but garlic. Polenta was not polenta (which is corn) but a "purè di patate", something close to the American smashed potatoes. I told the waitress, she did not react.
Finally, I asked for an espresso and they don't serve espresso at night. Unbelievable, no Italian restaurant would ever make such a crazy decision.

We loved our dinner at Biga. Stopped in without a reservation around 6pm and they were able to accommodate us (I got the impression that an hour later we would have been out of luck). We started with the anti pasta salad which is surprisingly, but delightfully, spicy thanks to the salami. Pomodoro was one of the best I’ve ever head: thick, tender, handmade noodles; flavorful heirloom tomatoes; and just enough cheese to melt into the sauce and turn it creamy. We split a banana tart for dessert. The toasted peanut butter meringue combined with the cocoa hazelnut powder creates a really unique flavor that was surprising and wonderful. Good wine list completed the night. A delightful dinner in the Gaslamp Quarter.

...which is saying something in today’s restaurant scene (especially in Austin, TX).
True Italian cuisine with a modern flare. A well thought out wine list that has some great off the beaten path picks for wine geeks and some comfort food Chardonnay for the rest.
Great ambience, you can eat solo or in a group. Well done lay out.
In a touristy neighborhood like Gaslamp (no thanks), there are tons of chains so this is worth seeking out.
Calabrian salad was stellar btw. The charcuterie list is frustrating though, you can’t order a la carte. What a tease...

The staff were all very nice. The restaurant is clean and a little loud. The food...overpriced for undercooked pasta and vegs... could not bite through a pea pod without ripping it out of my mouth. And while I normally cook so dente pasta at home, this could have been cooked another three minutes. Thee were clearly some execution problems.

Took a client here for a business dinner and it was fantastic. Had one of the best charcuterie platters ever. Add the Buffalo Milk Mozzarella. Best I've ever had. I had the carbonara and it was great. Pizza looked great and the Bolognese was a big hit!

Arrived 30 min before kitchen closed and asked for a table for 2. Hostess rolled her eyes twice at us, seems we were an inconvenience, even though kitchen still open. Guess that having 2 more customers was a bother to her. After we quickly ordered food, our waiter disappeared. Thought he had finished his shift. Did not see him for 20 min after finished our meal but finally "found" him when we went to the bathroom. He had been sitting in a chair talking on his cell phone. Instead of coming to see if we needed something or wanted dessert he continued talking on his phone. Had to ask another waiter to bring us the check. Terrible service. For $30 pasta and $20 pizza we certainly expected a lot better. Did not feel welcome as customers. Waiters also bringing food while chewing mouthfuls of food, discussing personal issues in plain sight of customers. Unprofessional service. My gut told me when I saw the hostess treat us so rudely to walk out. Should have followed my gut

I always wonder why Starbux is jampacked when there is better coffee and more atmosphere at local places. Highly recommend this place for coffee breakfast and low-key atmosphere.

Prior to attending a performance at Copley Symphony Hall, we wanted a find a restaurant near by. Our foursome found Biga while walking and were seated quickly even though we didn't have a reservation (although it was not crowded when we arrived). Our server was very friendly and we were quickly offered water. The ambiance is cool in a vibrant, simple way. Since we had a performance to attend, we quickly ordered to minimize delays. it took a little bit of time to get our wine, but the appetizer Burata w/ prosciutto quickly arrived and was good. My friend thought her Bolognese fine. We split a pizza of prosciutto and arrugula, which was tasty. As the restaurant became more busy, it took much longer for service and our check. Two of my friends ordered a coffee and this took a very long time. It seemed the restaurant was a bit under staffed.

Delicious meal with wonderful wine to go along with it. The pizza was very good but not as crispy as I would like my crust. The topping however were fabulous!
