i have been meeting friends here off and on for quite some time. I like the open room feel, though it does get a little loud. I like coming on Sundays since there's no cork fee. They have a nice selection of wines to choose from and I can always find a really good Malbec that is reasonably priced. They... More

Stopped in mid-week and the bottles of wine were on sale. Paid for wine and corkage of $6.00 Had a terrific Artisan Cheese Platter. The wine was delicious! Sat on a big old saggy couch. Very different. Casual and cozy.

We have been visiting the location in Point Loma for years whenever visiting San Diego. Sadly, that location closed in spring of 2015 (high rents) as we tried out this location in Hillcrest. Great options for seating - high chairs situated around large barrels, comfortable chairs & couches, or the bar area. Lots of choices for wine & bubbly. Also,... More

My brother in law wanted to go here as he said it was one of his favourite places . I do not have a clue why ! It had a very odd menu , as there was not much choice for me I chose a Greek salad . I admit it did say it had spinach with it , but... More

Friends took us to this wine bar / store on our last visit to San Diego and we loved the concept: One can pick any wine from the shelves and pays a corkage fee to have it at the bar or take it home instead. We ordered pizzas and the cheese / charcuterie boards, which were gigantic and delicious. The... More

It's rare that I can enjoy an evening out and feel that I should have paid more. The food is great, the wines are excellent, and the staff is welcoming and efficient. The happy hour is a steal (the pizzas, at $2 a slice, have never disappointed) and the weekend specials make it way too tempting to stay home. Dog... More

My family (uncle, aunt, and her husband) and I were looking for a place to stop for a late lunch/early dinner when we happened to walk by Wine Steals. We popped in to see if they had food and found out that we could do wine tastings as well (they only do wine tasting a couple days a week and... More

A hot Saturday afternoon, and you need a cool glass of Chardonnay to set the world straight. So we parked ourselves at Wine Steals on University Ave. Well informed and helpul staff, the lady serving us was great. So was the unofficial entertainment. A group of housewives on a Saturday Afternoon. They were viscious to their absent comrades, highly indiscreet... More

Dunno why but every time I leave that place, I have the feeling of been ripped off... especially when I ordered the cheese tray.. I mean, there are few tiny cheesy bites and five slices of bread and the price is kinda expensive considering that there is also nothing cooked. One of the bartender once told me that those are...
