Restaurant has the space for large parties, okay with young, loud children. The severs are all very upbeat & nice. Food tasted as it should. I noticed a lot of little flies trying to land on our platters

This is the sort of place a lot of us would pray to find three doors down from our hotel (as my husband and I did when we stayed at the Gaslamp-Convention Center Comfort Inn in downtown San Diego): a big, fat, comfortable family-style Italian restaurant full of big, fat, comfortable food. And I do mean BIG: they say that... More

The food was mediocre...not enough spice and it was lukewarm. We were basically ignored for the majority of the meal. We waited almost an hour to be served (and it was about 8:15 when we arrived). Their machine was down and we weren't informed until after we ate that they were not accepting gift cards. When we called the manager... More

Bucas seem pretty consistent from location to location. This was the first time here. It has similar atmosphere to all other Bucas ... which is great. Just love to look at all the photos and all the different rooms. Bucas is nice in that they have some different foods, not typically found in American Italian restaurants, like veal saltimbocca. All... More

Buca is not only excellent for large groups, it's ideal for the family dining style. We had a group of 17 and had a wonderful time. The food was very delicious and we stuffed ourselves. The waiter was attentive and checked on us regularly. We ordered Chicken Parmigiana, Lasagna, Spaghetti with Meat Sauce (for our less adventurous folks), Mixed Green... More

Just arrived in San Diego earlier in the day and wanted to relax and unwind. Hostess seated us in an empty dining room but we were never alone. Jared did an awesome job as our server. Attentive (but not overbearing), polite and knowledgable regarding ingredients and preparation, he was very helpful in our selection of dishes. We chatted with him... More

This restaurant is much larger on the inside than it appears. It goes on and on...they walls are covered with photos and memorabilia- there is even a "pope" room! We only had pizza, which was great, but we did not try anything else. They serve family style and there were several several extended family groups having dinner.

Family restaurant with meals designed to share. Had the small Ravioli with meat sauce ($19.99US) and a small mixed green salad ($12.99US). Comfort food. Nothing wrong with the food. Quite tasty. But not cheap especially when the Aussie exchange rate is so low. Can get just as good food for half the price at home. Comprehensive menu with a great... More

I love Buca di Beppo, especially if you're with 4-8 people and want to have fun! The decor itself is entertaining! Even a pope's head is in the middle of one of the round tables! You're greeted by a voice recording of Italians answering the phone and having a dialog, hysterical! If you want an intimate high end experience, this... More

We made a reservation 2 months in advance based on other reviews that I read on this site. I joined the newsletter and received a coupon for my upcoming birthday and another for our anniversary. This is NOT the restaurant to go as a couple unless you are big eaters! It was very noisy. All foods are served family style... More
