We had great references from the place. My friend Eric knew Jairus Timmons and asked him to be the one to select our dishes. We did not order, we just placed ourselves in the hands of Jairus, and he made such a superb selection for us that we can hardly wait to repeat the experience.

A great place. Lively. Great server during our dinner. No matter what you asked for, she had a smile. The sushi is phenomenal. One of the best sushi I’ve had. Fresh, tasty. A bit pricey but worth it. Can be noisy with the music but don’t worry...you will not notice because the food is so good. Wish I lived closer to I could go again. Go here and you will not be disappointed.

A great place with ambience even in the outdoor environment. Food was wonderful and the service was friendly and attentive. My favorite roll was the full moon- see pic. So fresh and unique. The half moon was also delicious as was the shrimp tempura appetizer. Definitely a new favorite in downtown!

So I was visiting for a long weekend and this restaurant was something I was really looking forward to, especially given all the hype of the other reviews. When we arrived, we were met with the cacophony of the place, and it seems they squeezed tables into every available nook and cranny. I would have overlooked that if the food was something special, but quite the opposite -- veyr sub par! In fact, we had to send one of the rolls back because it tasted quite funky (and were still charged for it). I'm not sure if I went on an off night (it was Friday and quite crowded) but man, was I disappointed!

First night in San Diego, coming from Arizona I want to get as much California sushi as I can. I dug this one up from my archives because I hadn't been back since 2014. I should of kept it in the archives. I had made 7:30 dinner reservations through TOCK to sit at the bar. When we arrived, my friend and I were seated at the Robata Bar, dark and in the back. I really wanted the sushi bar seating. We ordered a Lavish Lychee, Sake and a Beer, while looking over the menu. Seems like they reduced the menu over the years. We pretty much just ordered our regular items, Uni, Yellowtail, Toro, Salmon, Eel Sushi. We shared the Yellowtail Jalapeno appetizer. Because the pieces were small and the fish was sliced so thin, we were still hungry, so we ordered a Half Moon Roll and Spicy Yellowtail roll, which again hardly any fish inside rolls. All the fish was OK neither here or there, not a WOW. Atmosphere: typical sushi restaurant. Service: Good. Food: ok

Ordered the traditional rolls, Shrimp Tempura and California. They were delicious! The restaurant was busy and loud, which is to be expected at a downtown restaurant. I decided to take my food back to my hotel room. I would definitely go there again.

Great sushi bar with a wide variety of rolls on the menu. The food comes out quickly and the atmosphere is unpretentious. The portions are large and the prices reasonable.

Atmosphere was a little loud, service was mad-rushed [except he had time for 2 gals nearby!] We ordered a variety hoping for a better result, but it was terrible sushi! Grocery store stuff is fresher, without a terrible aftertaste! Expensive for daughter and I, $115, & driving home, I wished I could get the bad 'fishy' taste out of my mouth that lingered! I may never trust fish again. [never left a bad review in my life B4 this]

It’s hard for me to give something 5 stars, but the sushi was amazing. Only in Tokyo have I had sushi this good and fresh. For the quality, the prices where not bad. Their Toro and Sake were great, and the staff were friendly and attentive.

In our recent travel to San Diego we visit Full Moon. I really love sushi and sometimes I do not find what I am looking for. Full Moon is really everything that I like in a sushi bar. The ambiance, service and delicious food make this restauran an amazing place to visit if you are planning to visit the beautiful San Diego.

By coincidence we had dinner at Full Moon and we definitely don't regret it. Delicious food, perfect atmosphere and lovely staff. We tried several different dishes and all of them very yummy! Try the Salmon Skin Roll, highly recommended

The restaurant has a nice vibe and is very popular, so reservations are recommended. We always let the chef choose the best, most fun dishes for us. Called omakase. You can choice the price of $80 or $120 per person. The $80 version is more than enough courses, each one being delicious and creatively platted. This should become your favorite sushi restaurant in San Diego.

Stumbled onto this place while walking in the Gaslamp District. Sampled the Tuna sashimi & the full moon roll on a night there was a full moon, so maybe that's why it tasted especially good! Spicy crab inside & shrimp tempura on top with a tasty ponzu sauce. They make their own low sodium soy sauce.
