Description: Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food!...
Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food! Located within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, you’ll enjoy traditional Mexican dining in a lush garden courtyard. There’s also free live entertainment, strolling mariachis, folklórico dancing, year-round events, and more! Casa de Reyes is located on the site of an adobe home built in 1823, one of the first adobe homes in San Diego. Our restaurant is named in honor of one of the home’s first owners, Doña Maria de los Reyes Ybañez de Dominguez. Doña Maria made her small, humble adobe a comfortable and welcoming home for friends and guests, and so do we.

A Bit Pricey, but No Regrets

Had dinner here on a weeknight in December and were able to walk up around 6pm with no wait. One of the things that drew me to it was the outdoor setting. I mean, you're in a great spot like Old Town San Diego, why not enjoy the atmosphere while you eat? They have plenty of good strong heaters... read more

This was fun to visit, and the food was excellent. Very traditional flavors and spices, but an extensive menu, so there is something for everyone. Family friendly as well as adults only. Open atmosphere and the margaritas with jalapeno was perfect.

I have to say it was nice eating outside near cite pit and warmers. The margarita was nice and strong. I liked my pork tamales but did not care for the side salad that had a cold, sour taste.

We stumbled upon this gem on our recent visit to Old Town San Diego, lucky for us! We were looking for some great authentic mexican food, and by my standards, this is really, really good! Started with some great chips, just the right crunch and the salsa was equally as good. I love chili verde and this dish exceeded my... More

This restaurant is located in Old Town. Great atmosphere - fire pits, Mexican dancing and music, and shopping. Our waitress was very good. Food was just so-so. I ordered a tostada with vegetable. Veggies were almost raw, not cooked as described. Also, most of my meal consisted of shredded lettuce. There was no sour cream as described. Was charged an... More

Ambiance was great. Very Mexican. Service was great. Bloody Mary was super. My food was bland and served cold. My wife liked her food and said it was warm. Americanized Mexican fare. I paid an extra buck for red sauce on my burrito and received a little smear, about a tablespoon of sauce.

Had a late lunch at the bar. Tortilla chips are sprinkled with paprika. Yum! Great margaritas, and the food is always fantastic.

If we are going to Old Town area, this is where we will eat. Honestly, I've never been anywhere else because this place has a great atmosphere and delicious food. As far as I can tell, there is only outdoor seating so be warned if the weather is cold and damp, so will you while you dine. Yes, there are... More

Food was pretty good and they had outside heaters by their tables. Staff accommodating with a toddler in the group.

If you have never had Mexican food before or are not from California you might think this is good Mexican food. But, yuck. This is tourist, canned, no flavor food. Just not good at all. We shared a platter of enchiladas and tacos. They are a lot of Mexican restaurants in Old Towne....pick a different one. The chips were good... More
