OK, first off, I want to say that Robbie at Hodad's is a MIRACLE WORKER. We had a party of 8, and he went out of his way to make room for all of us to sit together at dinner - on a very busy night. He was awesome! He came back over to our table a few times to... More

Saw this on Triple D and had to try it. It was fantastic! I would recommend it to any one. I had Guy's burger and Loved it. They give you lots of food. We ordered the large frigs which is onion rings and fries. There was 3 of us and we still couldn't finish them. Fast service.

Got to go burgers and french fries. A messy handful that was enjoyable to the last bite. Had plenty of onions and tomatoes and all that goes with a good burger... and a sauce. Had a really good flavor and tasted homemade. Lucky and got to park in front of Hodad's. Hodad's was recommended by hotel staff where I stayed.... More

Even the locals return time and time again (according to one we spoke with). Quite often the line is down the block. I will tell you I had the BEST BURGER I've ever had in my life and my husband, another couple and I had a great time reading and chuckling over all the license plates. Good beer choices, and... Really large burgers served by really friendly staff. The location is a little dicey for the downtown locations, seating is simple and the decor is eclectic (but fun!), but the burgers are large and tasty. Sides were not as good as the burgers (onion rings and fries were a little heavy and not as crispy as I like).

Hodads is as good as a hamburger joint can get in San Diego. The only bad thing is that it's always crowded. The place exudes energy and the burgers provide the fuel. Large portions, top quality ingredients, good staff and loud music add to the experience. Everyone should try this place at least once.

The atmosphere was awesome, we had the best seat in the house. Portions are humongous, and well worth the price. We got there and didn't have to wait, we walked right in and were seated, but within 5 minutes the line was already halfway down the side of the building. We will be returning next month, this time with our... More
