We had a romantic dinner.

We had reservations for dinner at a different restaurant but when we found out The Melting Pot was next-door to our hotel we had to cancel them. This has been one of our favorite places to go for a romantic evening together for years. Thomas...was our server here and he was excellent. He gave us history on the old Bank building that the restaurant was in. It was a beautiful, warm atmosphere inside. We have been to The Melting Pot in a few other cities and always love it. Thomas was really helpful in that he suggested we try different things on the menu than our usual go to. We had a wonderful time thanks to him and the food as always was amazing.More

Yum

Cute ambiance and really delicious food, this place has it all. A wonderful place to kick back and relax when it is cold outside!

A big disappointment

The Melting Pot has been one of our favourite restaurants for years but after this visit we have never been more disappointed or dissatisfied. They had a prefixed menu since it was New Year’s Eve. I talked to the them in advance about sharing menus,...witch they said was fine. When we put in our order and wanted to share they said that this was not possible and that every single one had to have their own menu. I told them that I already cleared this with the restaurant, but they told me it was a misunderstanding and nothing they could do. Everyone had to have their own meal. When the check came they had charged us 40 $ for one kids meal instead of 35 $ as were announced on the webpage. We tried to talk to them about it. Apparently that was a mistake too, and the new price was 40 $, even though nobody informed us about this. Our waiter even said 35 $ when she introduced the menu earlier that night.They also said a kids drink was included, but we got charged for that too. No understanding or even trying to find a solution from anyone that worked there when we pointed this out.More

It was cool experience. When waiter cooks fondue right in front of you and telling about process-amazing. Very good kitchen, price doesnt bite. Thanks again manager and his brother for friendly atmosphere and nice conversation! Just one minus: not very good table right on the...aisle.More

Always love the cheese

Great location right downtown. Stopped in for happy hour-1/2 price cheese! How can you not like that? It's only in the bar and the bartender (poor guy) has to go up and down the stairs to get food, but he was so on top of...it. Good drink specials too. Cheese was amazing per usual. I love melting pot!More

Unique Dinner

Our experience was great! The cheese starter was good, my favorite dipping ended up being the sliced green apples. The salads were excellent. I would recommend ordering meat that has been pre-seasoned. We much more enjoyed the meats that came already seasoned rather the ones...that relied on the cooking liquid and sauces to flavor it. The dessert was incredible and we basically ordered the milk chocolate option. Our server answered our many questions and was really awesome! We had a Groupon, remember to tip on the overall price not just the price for your additions.More

Expensive but nice treat

Stumbled upon this place in the Gaslamp Quarter. Prices are quite inflated for what you get it’s the the novelty you are paying for. Charcuterie board is tiny for the price. Cheese was lovely and drinks delicious but wouldn’t recommend here if on a budget.

A touch of Europe in USA

Funny and attentive personnel, dim lights, perfect for friends dinner or a romantic date. I recommend the Bourguignonne with four meats. The chocolate fondue with fruits is delicious.

Great when it’s cold !!!!

They have the best fondues !!!! We love going here when it’s cold outside Their meat fondue is also spectacular and the dessert one is amazing !!!!

Unique dining experience

The staff was very friendly and eager to help us have a special dining experience. We've been to a fondue establishment in Saratoga which was a bad experience because the staff was not friendly and acted like we were an inconvenience just being there. The...staff at the Melting Pot in San Diego were so nice and maximized our good experience.More
