I would define this as an upmarketed restaurant. Salads, pasta and the fish were very well presented and tasty with great service. The pasta appeared to be homemade, was just al dente and swimming in large volume of sauce. A very nice dish. However personally I am always reluctant to spend lots of money on food and prefer the 'streetfood'... More

We had dinner here with some New York friends, who are rather particular about their Italian food, and they were very impressed with the food here. The pasta dishes we tried were outstanding, and you can really taste the difference when the pasta is made in house. Our favorite appetizer turned out to be the Carpaccio, but for main course... WOW OMG, I am lucky to say have eaten all over the world, but tonight we stumbled on Osteria Panevino in San Diego, from the moment we walked in, the service was warm friendly, Giuseppe was our server, he delivered world class service, the food was mouthwatering, the Lobster Pasta was fantastic, the mushroom and asparagus risotto delicious, and lamb... Came out to LA to visit my daughter for her birthday and we side tripped down to San Diego for an overnight. With som many restaurants to choose from we decided on here based on their menu. The ambiance in the restaurant was inviting as we sat thru our appetizer and moved onto the salad and entree's. Service was fantastic... More

Last month, in connection with our national sales meeting, we sent 14 of our people to Panevino. We had arranged a pre-set menu and instructed the staff to limit people to two drinks apiece. Unfortunately, nothing was said about wine. When we received the bill the following day, it came to over $3,000, over half of which was for alcohol.... More

The waiter was there, but not attentive. Asked multiple times "How are you?", obviously not bothering to hear my reply each time. Ordered the Pollo Toscano. It looked good, but just tasted OK. While we were waiting for our food, someone took photos of us, which they printed and tried to sell us. No thanks! When I go out to... More

I was thrilled with the meal, wine selection, and atmosphere of this restaurant. Most impressive was the lovely waitress who took care of us during our meal, truly one of the best I have encountered in some time. A group of six of us had dinner here during a visit to San Diego for a conference. The food was simply... More

Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. The location is in the gaslamp area and very convenient. We had a variety of appetizers and those were delicious. I especially enjoyed the calamari. For dinner I ordered the lamb. I was disappointed because the outside was tough and the inside was under cooked. It was very hard to cut it with the... More
